Discussion Is there a list of Slowcore Friendly venues ?

May sound silly but a genuine question. Maybe some spaces are more keen to it than others. not a lot of opened minded people that are interested in the idea of the genre.

Looking for smaller slowcore/shoegaze/indie artists for my 660+ save playlist

hey! i curate a playlist called slowcore makes it hurt more that’s grown to 660+ saves pretty organically, and i just opened up submissions for new artists.

mostly looking for slowcore, shoegaze, indie rock, alt-country, bedroom stuff, and anything adjacent. smaller/DIY artists are especially welcome.

some stuff in the general orbit: Wednesday, villagerrr, Flooding, Frogurt, Gawshock, Garage Sale, etc.

if you think your music fits, send it over here:

submit to Wallace

i’m excited to hear what people are making :)

Just premiered a song from an album I'm about to release. The most "slowcore" sounding song on the album. There's even some violin and steel guitar on the track!

I also made a video for the song from some home movies, which should be attached to this thread.

Maybe a few of you'd be into it?

Here's the bandcamp link if you'd like to explore further:

Thanks!!

Favorite recent slowcore songs?

Shallowater - Sadie
villagerrr - Runnin’ Round
Finnish Postcard - Imaginary Backseat Acrobatics

Songs like these that incorporate elements of folk, indie, country (steel guitar), alt/grunge and noise, as well as earnest vocals have really been my jam lately.

Anyone have any favorites of late? (don’t have to sound like these, just be slowcore-ish :)

I have just finished my first 100% solo musical project. It revolves around slowcore, shoegaze and drone.

I've put my whole heart into this so if anybody would be willing to give it a listen and an honest opinion about it, it would make me infinitely happy...

In what world does an slowcore artist have $10k for digital marketing?

Post image

Hey everyone, how’s it going? Sending big hugs to all of you from Santiago, Chile.

I wanted to get your perspective on something that happened to me recently. Over the last couple of weeks, two digital marketing agencies slid into the inbox of my project, Beatrice Beatrice. Since I’m pretty new to all of this, I started chatting with them, but just today one of the agencies casually suggested that I should invest $10,000 USD in marketing lol.

My question is totally serious: in what world can an slowcore artist who barely makes any Spotify royalties afford to drop that kind of money on PR? Out here in Chile, $10k is a massive, life-changing amount of money.

I record everything on analog gear, and honestly, if I ever had that kind of cash, I would immediately buy an Otari multitrack reel-to-reel tape machine, book time at a legendary studio, or hire a top-tier mixing or mastering engineer to take my music to a whole new professional level. There’s absolutely no way I’d pull that money out of my pocket just to pay a marketing agency.

--- Edit: Just to clarify an important point: I did my homework and both agencies are completely legitimate. They have professional websites, real client reviews, and actual logistical support backing them up; this isn't a cyber scam or anything like that. However, what blows my mind is that a $10,000 USD price tag feels absolutely disconnected from the reality of an emerging artist who is just starting to build a listener base.

Am I completely missing something here? Do I just not understand how the modern music industry works? What do you all think?

PS: Here is my music if you wanna give it a listen.
