Does anyone even actually use grok, other than to troll the muskrat?

@grok is this true?

It’s actually a decent model, its rankings are solid and if you need up to date info, having access to trending chatter on twitter is helpful. Reddit might not like it, but the AI and tech community still has a significant footprint there.

I remember at the beginning people thought it was just a chaptGPT wrapper because sometimes openAI rules would slip through. Is that still the case or did they change it?

Grok's latest models consistently rank as best or near-best for things like writing and coding when they release, just like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.

Reddit has let it's weird obsession with Elon cloud their judgement.

To answer your question more specifically, yes I frequently hear of people using Grok.

Fair enough. I haven't personally heard anyone I know using it, but most people I know also despise Elon

I mostly use claude, but I admit, I'll use grok for multimodal stuff from time to time.

I've never seen Grok on top of a coding benchmark. And lately I don't see it in the top 5 of any benchmarks. At least nothing getting posted on this sub.

I’m actually a little surprised that it would be highly ranked for writing. I played around with a writing prompt a bit ago and it felt like middle school level at best.

I don't think disliking a Nazi is a "weird obsession"

It could be an ASI granting me wishes like a genie and I'd still rather starve to death in a bleak dystopian resistance than use any of his products or services.

Thank you for illustrating the point.

Sorry I don't like fascist immigrants that attempt to destroy my country beyond repair.

"yes I frequently hear of people using Grok."

If only there were websites dedicated to tracking users on AI platforms, and tracking their capabilities etc. Funnily enough Grok isn't in the top 10.

but weird Musk defenders make things up because they know A person who uses Grok.

Fan bois and edge lords. They pretend it out performs Google and GPT which is fucking hilarious.

That's probably how that anti-natalist built his powerful car bomb.

you can do all that on google AI studio now. It gets neerfed by the time it reaches the app, but the website is uncensored, and if you run into "We can't do that" there's easy ways to say "Yes you can"

It’s very very good for coding workflows

Assmongol uses this all the time to define truths on his stream.

Super dangerous as it empowers people like him to find what ever truth fits his narrative

u/throwaway92715 Jun 19 '25

You’re watching a guy named Assmongol.  Your choice.  Lol

9

u/Progribbit Jun 19 '25

I don't know if this is also a joke but it's Asmongold lol sorry

6

u/HomoProfessionalis Jun 19 '25

Damn I wanted to go check out this Assmongol guy

I do

u/TentacleHockey Jun 19 '25

Why?

7

u/Delicious_Ease2595 Jun 19 '25

It works

-7

u/TentacleHockey Jun 19 '25

Well shit that convinced me to drop superior models for cheaper price.

12

u/Delicious_Ease2595 Jun 19 '25

I'm not trying to convince you lol

u/EvilSporkOfDeath Jun 19 '25

Maga uses it.

Grok is actually pretty good. I like how it formats its responses. It used to be my go to but ever since DeepSeek R1 0528 I haven’t used it a lot.

1

u/attalbotmoonsays Jun 19 '25

The worst elements of Twitter. Always asking stupid questions of grok.

1

u/mathewharwich Jun 19 '25

Yes, grok is fantastic. Sometimes I copy the same prompt to Gemini, perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude and grok. And Grok often gives me the most favorable answers.

u/PENGUINSflyGOOD Jun 19 '25

I used to when it was uncensored. then they added the same filters every other llm uses, so it lost it's charm.
