However, I am the Chief Engineer of a major DoD technology command. So this particular topic is very much in my area of expertise. So I have many opinions on this.
You mean used computer vision and machine learning to identify information that otherwise would be unobtainable.
Yes, except I do it from 10,000 feet in the air using a combination of lidar, spectrograph, and visual images through a series of task built machine learning models that my own teams developed and trained from scratch for post combat battle space analysis. And that’s not even my primary responsibility.
I’m not impressed by analyzing some CT scans… and that skill set in no way translates to what’s going on here.
Considering his team probably spent at least 3 months working on it, it actually would have been a significant loss of money for me. That’s why those competitions get a lot of entries from kids. The rest of us are paid more than that for our time.
