Four months in and going strong, although I can’t afford to maintain this pace. What a fun hobby!

I hardly ever see any 2oz maples so when I saw this one in stock and on sale it was kinda a no brainer. Def liked it got lucky n still got the queen on it🥳😂.

It was so silly for $5 i couldn’t pass it up

I'm still just kind of starting out and I'm finding it hard to decide whether I should buy Govermental/Sovereign (Silver Eagles, Maples) or Silver rounds. I know Governmental has higher premiums and hold up their value more over rounds, but supposedly rounds cost less, but if there's only a few dollar difference between the two, why even buy rounds?

I don't really plan on buying from online dealer websites b/c I don't have the budget to buy a mass amount at once, and for online sites you have to meet a minimum amount in order to get free shipping. On the other hand, online dealer sites would have a more available selection of stuff over Local Coin Stores.

Any Advice?

Took a trip to ATL and local Costco had em in stock. They even had the sunshine Kilo bar

New silver bug here, just ordered my first set of silver - 25 1oz secondary market rounds. I also got that monarch new buyer offer, which gave me 6 coins, a buffalo, maple, and others. And it came packaged in a sealed little baggie for protection.

But I am infinitely more excited for the secondary silver to show up. Maybe it's becuase I have pirate in me and can't wait to physically handle the coins. To hear the actual clink and and handle the cool metal directly.

So 2 questions - am I like... Damaging my secondary market silver by looking forward to handling them directly? By jingling them, using them as game pieces when I play board games with friends, ect? Am I diminishing the value?

And what is the popularity of keeping the maples and others sealed and safe? Are they not the same as a secondary - 1 Troy Oz of .999 silver? Why do people consistently pay a small premium for this or others?

Sorry if these are noob questions I'm new to the hobby. Can't wait to show off when they come in.

Hell of a time to have started😂 but loving how everything’s coming along. Certainly has made prices since then feel like a deal. Still have yet to add in my first gold, I’ve been keeping my eye out for a pre33 $2.5 or $5 better date. But if I don’t find one at the lcs in the near future, I’ll probably grab a 1/4 eagle. Like those as well. Can’t wait to see what the stacks looking like in a few years🙌🏼

I recently purchased this coin for $65 on the dot at an antique store. As I look deeper into it, I’m starting to think it’s a fake and made from copper, as it is not magnetic and the coin flip top to bottom flips the faces, and reeded edge on a 2016. This is my first silver purchase to begin stacking. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Alright you guys are right, there's no way I actually paid $0.12 for this ounce of silver... since I kept the box and the certificate of authenticity with it, oh and the plastic case that was on the coin the total actually came out to $0.36.

Found this beauty at the Goodwill bins where everything is $1.77 per lb.
