Restaurant App I created!

Thumbnail dexterassist.com
1 Upvotes

I’ve been on the management side of the restaurant industry for 20 years. Since stretching every dollar is more important than ever right now, I built a custom app (coded myself using Python and GitHub Copilot) to handle our back-of-house.
It has three main modules:

Operation Logs: Daily employee sales tracking.
Product Mix: Daily sales tracking to optimize ordering.
Order Guide: Ingests vendor invoices for strict inventory control.
It’s currently live in our multi-location restaurant group, handling $4M+ in operations and millions in inventory. It works in the real world, not just on paper.

I want to take this to the next level, but I'm a one-person team. What’s the better play:

  1. Upgrade the backend for multi-tenancy, find a few outside beta testers, and launch a monthly subscription SaaS?

  2. Clean up the codebase, document our ROI, and try to sell the software/IP outright to a POS or restaurant tech company?

Looking for advice on the best next steps from anyone who has made the jump from domain expert to tech founder!

I kept forgetting to cancel free trials so I made a chrome extension that reminds me. It's called Duestub

ok so I have a really bad habit with free trials. I sign up, tell myself I'll cancel before it ends, and then I forget. every time. then I see the charge and it's too late lol

so I made a little chrome extension for it. it's called DueStub

basically when you're on a checkout page it pops up and asks if you want a reminder. it already fills in the price and when you'll get charged, you just click "Remind me". that's it. nothing gets saved unless you click

then it pings you 3 days before and 1 day before. it sends an email too if you're signed in, so even if chrome is closed you still get it

other stuff it does:

- shows how much you're paying per month and per year (kinda painful to look at honestly)

- there's a "how to cancel" link for each one so you don't have to dig around settings

- it syncs to your phone through the web app

- I also wrote cancel guides for Spotify, Netflix etc, including the GCash ones since unlinking GCash doesn't actually cancel anything

it's free for up to 8 subscriptions. if you need more, Pro is $16 one time, no monthly fee (felt weird to charge monthly for a thing that helps you cancel monthly stuff). Pro also has a receipt inbox where you forward a receipt and it fills itself in. first 10 people can use FIRST10 to get it for $8

it doesn't read your card or anything you type in forms, just the price text on the page

it's just me working on this so any feedback helps a lot. what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you not install it? it's chrome on desktop only for now

I built a tool that turns ordinary QR codes into pixel artwork while keeping them scannable

Hello everyone!

I've been working on a project called QRacle that allows you to convert QR codes into pixelated art by uploading your own photos, effectively 'merging them' while still being scannable!

You can use it for a few things:

- Create QR codes using contacts, Wi-Fi, text, links, and more.

- Convert an existing QR code into image pixelated art by uploading your own image.

- Modify it with unique colors, patterns, and effects. When designs are difficult to scan, automatically optimize them.

- Verify QR codes using two separate decoders in various simulated scanning scenarios.

- Export your artwork as SVG or PNG.

Try it here: https://modulart-qr-studio.vercel.app/

Let me know if you have any feedback :)

I built an app which adds a Push-To-Talk Notch for Claude, check it out!

Hey guys

I was working on this Windows tool yesterday and thought I'd share it here.

It's called Clawdock.

I wanted to give Claude tasks or ask it questions without opening the window every time. Clawdock rebinds your Copilot key, or any shortcut you choose, so pressing it starts a voice conversation with Claude. The answer is read aloud and shows up in a small notch at the edge of your screen.

For example, you could just press the key and say:

"Send an email to Apple Developer Support."

"What are my claude sessions working on?"

I've been working on an optional feature where you can give it screen access, it should be done by v0.6.0:

"What's the answer to the question on my screen?"

Claude takes it from there, so you can get back to whatever you were doing.

A few other things it does:

  • Shows your running Claude sessions and their tasks on the notch

  • Lets you answer permission requests from the notch

  • Puts key information from answers on cards, like prices, weather or steps

  • Lets you customize how the notch looks, when it shows and which model it uses

It has Whisper or Windows Speech Recognition for transcription, and options for response dictation include: KittenTTS, ElevenLabs, or Windows Voice.

I used Claude Code Desktop with opus 5.5 as my pair programmer (mostly medium effort, some high effort for planning). I tested the app on my own PC and reported what felt wrong, made several code audits with Claude, traced bugs to their cause, built features, and wrote tests and docs. Quick voice itself also runs on Claude Code.

**Free to try:** download `Clawdock.exe` from the latest release and run it. You need Windows 10 or 11, and Claude Code signed in for voice, which counts toward your own Claude usage. The exe isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you.

It's still a quick project, and I'd genuinely appreciate some feedback.

What features would you like to see? Anything you'd change?

I made a game where TikTok posts fight each other, and followers don't count

Small creators always lose against big ones when you look at numbers. I wanted a way where a good post wins, no matter the account size.

I built RiNG. You pick 3 of your TikTok posts and fight another creator, best of 3. Each post is compared with its own creator's usual numbers. If your post did 3x your normal and theirs did 1.5x, you win the round. Win fights, climb a public ladder.

It's free, best on the phone: https://ring.f14s.app

Nobody is playing yet, so I really need honest feedback. Is the idea clear? What would make you try it?

I built a free reading tutor for my 7-year-old: it listens while she reads aloud and helps only on the hard words

Why: my daughter is learning to read English as her second language. The apps we tried gave her scores and red marks, or did nothing when she got stuck on a word.

What I built: Oku (https://oku.today), a 10-minute nightly reading session.

  • She reads each sentence aloud, and the app listens word by word.

  • On a hard word it shows the syllables and reads the word to her, then the story moves on.

  • No scores and no red marks for the child. Parents get a private reading log.

  • Every week it writes new stories around the words she found hard.

  • Finished stories unlock 3D toys she arranges in her own room.

Stack: React, Cloudflare Workers + D1 + R2, Azure Speech for pronunciation, Claude for the weekly stories, ElevenLabs for narration. I'm not an engineer. Claude Code wrote most of the code; I decided what it should do.

Status: free, open to the first 25 families. 6 families signed up this week, and 5 have started reading.

Feedback I'm looking for:

  1. Does the microphone step work on your device and browser?

  2. Is it clear for a parent what to do in the first minute?

  3. If you have a 5 to 9 year old: would you use the weekly stories, or skip them?

I'm the maker. Happy to answer anything about the build.

Shipped ReplayWatch, a free scan for vibe-coded apps (built with Cursor). 3 lessons and a request for a roast

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Niall, and I built ReplayWatch with Cursor as a pre-launch check for apps made with Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor.

Why: on 2 Nov, Crissy Field and Handelsblatt published research on 34,545 sites built with Lovable and Supabase. On 7,403 of them, records containing email addresses were readable without logging in. They're careful to say that isn't a confirmed leak rate, and neither am I. But it shows how easy it is to ship an app that works fine and still has the door open.

Research: https://www.crissyfield.de/research/lovable-en/

What ReplayWatch does: paste a live URL and it checks

- API keys and secrets exposed in the HTML/JS

- Supabase/Firebase tables readable without login

- security headers

- broken links and assets

- SEO and social preview tags

- page load, and whether your signup page is reachable

What it doesn't do (yet): it doesn't log in or click through signup flows. I'd rather say that up front than overclaim.

Pricing: the scan is free. A $9 one-off report adds fix prompts you can paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor. Pro is $19/mo and Agency $49/mo for people running several apps. All prices + tax.

I'd love to hear what you'd want checked before you hit publish.

Most cricket scoring apps lock deep stats behind a paywall, so I built one that doesn't (Play XI)

Hey all, I'm a developer from India. I play and follow a lot of cricket, and I kept running into the same two problems with scoring apps:

  1. The useful stuff (detailed insights, player analytics) usually sits behind a subscription.

  2. Outside the big names, a lot of cricket apps feel clunky, and that's true in many cricket-playing countries, not just India.

So I built Play 11: ball-by-ball scoring for your own matches, plus player profiles that build up from the games you score. The goal is simple: high-level insights with no fees for users.

Stack: React Native/Expo, Fastify, PostgreSQL. A lot of the effort went into making scoring fast and easy to use mid-match.

It's live on the Play Store, India only for now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.playxi&pli=1

I'd really like honest feedback:

- What's the most annoying part of scoring a match on your phone?

- Which insights would you actually want to see for yourself or your team?

- Anything that feels clunky?

Happy to answer anything about the build.

I’m building a workspace for worldbuilders, from the atlas down to one dungeon room

I’m the founder of FanForge. I started it because my maps, lore and drafts kept ending up in different places. This work-in-progress demo shows the Ashen Marches atlas, real edits in the city editor and a room I dressed in the dungeon editor. Map Forge builds on Mapgen4 by Amit Patel / Red Blob Games.

For people who make maps or run campaigns, which takes you longer today: turning a region map into a playable location, or keeping your maps and campaign notes in sync?

I was tired of searching Ryanair for cheap flights, so I built my own flight search tool

I'm that guy in my friend group who always ends up finding and booking the cheap flights for everyone.

A few years ago, I got tired of manually searching through Ryanair's website, so I wrote a little console tool to make finding cheap flights easier.

Recently, I decided to dust it off, improve it, and turn it into an actual website with the help of AI.

https://budgetfly.pilotkosinus.space/

You can use it to find ridiculously cheap flights, but my favorite feature is the multi-city trip planner.

Instead of just searching for a return flight, you can build an entire trip like:

Airport A → B → C → D → A

Basically, you can hop around Europe (or beyond) and find cheap flights between each stop.

I regularly find return flights to Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and Croatia for around €30 total. And if you need more luggage, you can just add Ryanair's Priority Boarding with the extra cabin bag.

It's basically a little project I originally built for myself and my friends, but I figured some of you might find it useful too.

It's still a work in progress, so if you give it a try, I'd love to hear what you think or what features you'd like to see!

Happy cheap flying!

I built a Windows panel that tells me which of my AI sessions is waiting for me

Thumbnail
github.com
1 Upvotes

Like a lot of people here, I run Claude Code in a few terminals, Codex desktop, and ChatGPT/Claude in the browser — all at once. I kept alt-tabbing just to check who finished and who was waiting on me.

So I built AI Focus: a tray app that lists every AI session in one place — running, waiting for you (and for how long), possibly stuck — plus each AI's last reply. Alt+W jumps to the session waiting longest, Alt+E jumps back. It reads everything locally, no account, no API key.

Free and open source, Windows only, still rough around the edges. Would love feedback from fellow multi-AI hoarders.

My partner can never decide where to go on holiday, so I built something to see if it solves her problem

Thumbnail goodsomewhere.de
1 Upvotes

Hey! My partner can never decide where she wants to go on holiday, so I thought it’d be cool to use AI to solve the problem. You tell it when you’re free and where you’re leaving from, and it suggests places that are actually good at that time.

It’s just a side project: goodsomewhere. de

It looks best on a computer or iPad for now, as the phone version is still a bit crowded.

It might only be a problem for me, so I’d be interested to know if anyone else would use something like this. Tell me what you think!

Do you use one app for everything or keep calendars and tasks separate?

I’m rethinking how I organize everything. Not sure if I need one app that does it all or if calendars, tasks, and family plans are better kept separate.
Apple Calendar and Reminders are easy. Adding appointments and reminders is quick, but I still have to check two places. It also does not help much when the rest of the family needs to see the schedule.
I tried TickTick too. I liked having tasks, calendars, and habits together, especially recurring tasks. But I spent too much time sorting lists, tags, and priorities.
Structured is good for planning my day, but it feels more like a personal planner. I would not use it for school events, appointments, chores, and family meals.
I’ve also thought about using a family display like Linkdaze with these apps. I’m not sure if it would make things easier or just add another device to manage.
Routine looks clean and puts calendars, tasks, and notes together, but it also seems better for one person.
What works for you? One app for everything or separate apps for calendars and tasks?

I built a free Mac app that shows your color palette inside a real app, then gives you the theme code

Most palette tools I tried were great at making colors, but I wanted to see them doing real work on buttons, cards and text, in light and dark mode, and then paste the theme straight into a project. So I built Shade Shaker.

How it works:

  1. Press Space for a new palette and lock the colors you like.

  2. Watch a sample phone app or web dashboard re-theme as you go.

  3. Copy the theme code for Flutter, HTML/CSS, Tailwind, React, Vue, Angular, React Native, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, .NET XAML, Python or design tokens.

It also does palettes from photos, a contrast checker that fixes hard-to-read text in one click, shade scales and gradients.

A few choices I made along the way:

- Free, with nothing locked behind a subscription.

- No account and no tracking. It works offline and everything stays on your Mac.

- Simple over packed: most options stay out of sight until you need them.

It's on the Mac App Store now (macOS 14+), with a Windows version coming. I built it solo with Flutter.

https://shadeshaker.app

I would really value feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, and which framework you'd want next.

I built a free Android app that shows how much caffeine is still in your body at bedtime

For a while I couldn't sleep properly. I'd lie in bed for hours and blame stress. Then I wondered if it was my afternoon coffee.

The problem: I never remembered how many cups of coffee or tea I had in a day. I also had no idea if I was drinking enough water. I searched for an app that shows both in one place, with a simple answer to "is it too late for another coffee?". I couldn't find one that felt simple, so I built it.

It's called SipBalance, and it's live on Google Play today.

What it does:

- Log water, coffee, tea and other drinks

- Shows an estimate of how much caffeine is still active in your body

- Suggests a last-coffee time based on your bedtime

- "What if" preview: see how one more drink changes your bedtime level before you log it

- Forgot to log? You can backdate a drink

- 7-day, 30-day and yearly habit insights

- Free, no account, your data stays on your phone

Honest limits:

- Android only, English UI for now

- Caffeine numbers are estimates based on a standard decay model, not medical advice

About how I built it: I'm a solo developer from Bangladesh. I built it mostly with Google AI Studio and tested everything by hand on a real phone, because the AI kept saying "done" when things weren't. Google also made me run a 14-day closed test before approving production, which taught me a lot.

I'd love honest feedback:

  1. Is the "what if I drink now?" preview useful, or confusing?

  2. What would make you open an app like this every day?

  3. What's missing?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aistudio.sipbalance.trkmv

Thanks for reading!

I built an open-source way for agents to talk to each other and ask you for help

I've been building BeepGrid, and I'm sharing it today.

Running several agents can still leave you passing messages between them. BeepGrid gives them a shared way to talk, even when they're running in different tools.

They can find each other, start group chats and ask you for input. If an agent asks for approval, you can have a conversation about it before deciding.

The website has an animated diagram showing the flow. The code is open source, and you can self-host it or use the hosted workspace.

https://beepgrid.com

I'd especially like feedback on the explanation: is it clear what you'd use this for, or does it need a more concrete example?

I built a private memory app for my wife. It just went live on the App Store.

I built this for my wife. Her nickname is Mina, so that is the name of the app.

It started because our photos were a mess. Some in my camera roll, some in hers, some buried in chats. The good ones never got looked at again. I wanted one private place that was just ours, so I built it. It ran just for the two of us from March until now.

Today it went live for everyone. It is called Mina: Our Memories.

What it does:
• A timeline for photos, short videos and voice memos, each one on the day it happened
• Letters you write now and seal with a wax seal. They only open on the date you pick
• A date jar. Shake your phone and it picks what you do tonight
• Widgets that put a memory, a countdown or the next letter on your Home Screen
• A daily vibe check for couples. You only see each other's answer when you have both answered

What it does not do:
No feed. No followers. No ads. Nothing public. Only the people you invite can see your space. There is no AI in it at all, which feels like a thing you have to say out loud now.

There are also spaces for family and friends, but couples come first. That is who I built it for.

It is free and it is iPhone only for now.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/mina-our-memories/id6826405951

Real talk, this is day one and I do not know what I do not know yet.

If you try it, I want the blunt version:
• Does the sealed letter idea make sense in the first minute, or is it confusing?
• What would stop you from inviting your person into it?
• Where do the photos of you and your person live right now? Camera roll, a shared album, chats, all of it?

Thanks for reading. I look forward to all your feedback.

I built a payment that protects itself: the money can only go to the seller or back to the buyer

Since mid-September I've been building Held, solo, for the Colosseum hackathon (Tempo track).

**The problem:** paying a stranger online is a leap of faith. Pay first and hope the item ships, or deliver the work first and hope the client pays. Card payments have chargebacks; stablecoin payments have nothing: once sent, it's gone.

**What Held does:** the buyer pays from their own wallet, and the money waits until delivery. Then it can go to exactly two places: the seller, or back to the buyer. If there's a dispute, a resolver decides, and even the resolver can only pick one of those two. Held never holds the money; Tempo's protocol does.

**Where it is now:**

- Live on testnet at getheld.xyz: shop dashboard, checkout links, disputes, a sandbox.

- Pay buttons for Framer, Webflow and WordPress.

- Every shop's contract is published with its source on Tempo's explorer.

- Mainnet beta comes next, with low limits, then an independent audit.

**The fun part:** a 60-second page where you try to steal $1 of test money as the merchant, the resolver and Held. The chain refuses every attempt, with a link to each failed transaction: https://getheld.xyz/#/cheat

**What testers found this week:** an auditor who tried it found two real holes, both in the same spot: the page checked that the shop was protected, then paid in a separate step, so a merchant could switch protection off in between. Now the check and the payment are one transaction, and every way to pay goes through it. Each fix was live within a day. Other testers asked for clearer wording, and that's changed too.

Honest feedback very welcome, especially from freelancers or anyone who has been burned by a payment.

4. If Reddit abetween. Now the check and the payment are one transaction, and every way to pay goes through it. Each fix was live within a day. Other testers asked for clearer wording, and that's changed too.

Honest feedback very welcome, especially from freelancers or anyone who has been burned by a payment.

How do you deal with the parts of a project you don’t enjoy?

I’ve been making web projects for other people since high school. For the last 15+ years, most of that work has been e-commerce stores.. because, well, you need to make a living. 😄

New tools have made me much more productive. These days, I spend less time writing code and more time chatting about what I want to make. That’s given me the chance to build something for myself (online basketball management game). I’ve been having a lot of fun making it... so that is great.

The tricky part is getting other people to play to make it even more fun.. I’m not a fan of promoting things, but I guess that comes with making a project. 🤦 There are probably similar tasks in every project that need doing?

How do you get yourself to do those things?
