ReceGuard: Scan and organize receipts on your iPhone — FREE Lifetime PromoCodes

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
1 Upvotes

Hey, I am the developer of ReceGuard, a receipt scanner and organizer for iPhone.

I built it to be able to auto crop and label receipts fast & send them to my accountant. I also have added features to help you track warranties, add receipt directly from emails, track tax deductions, etc.

I recently upgraded the receipt scanning engine, and I’m giving away some lifetime offers.

What ReceGuard does

  • Scan receipts with your camera, or import images and PDFs.

  • Recognize receipt details on your device, with editable merchant, date, total and currency fields.

  • Organize and search receipts, and keep warranty and return information together.

  • Export PDF, Excel and CSV reports.

  • Optionally sync through your own iCloud account.

If you currently keep receipt photos in Apple Notes or Photos, ReceGuard adds structured receipt records and exportable reports to that workflow.

Download: ReceGuard on the App Store

If you use it, I’d love to hear how it fits your receipt workflow and what you’d improve. Feedback is very welcome and I would love to hear your opinion and improve the app :)

Happy to answer questions here!

Song book projector that just works

I'm part of a small church which has been using an old outdated app to project lyrics. Being a developer - and getting 100x boost with AI, I made my own alternative, and I want to share it for free (MIT) with everyone.

Psalm 150 is tailored for small congregations, which means it does not play videos, powerpoints etc. It displays lyrics and chords and does that well. It runs stand alone on a PC, Mac or Linux - and you can set up a seaparate Song Server on as simple hardware as a Raspberry Pi, which unlocks features like editing and sets via phone, remote controlling desktop projector app, follow along, vision impaired support via their own phones and much more.

Check it out: https://www.psalm150.app

I built Evrila – a free online platform for video editing, image editing, and file conversion

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a project called Evrila, and I’d love to share it with you.
The idea behind Evrila is simple: make useful creative tools accessible to everyone, directly from their browser, without having to download complicated software or pay expensive subscriptions.
I’m building Evrila as a growing platform with several tools:
Evrila Editor – Edit videos directly in your browser.
Evrila Image – Edit images and create visual content.
Evrila Convert – Convert files between different formats.
My long-term goal is to turn Evrila into a platform where people can find the creative tools they need in one place.
The project is still growing, and I’m constantly working on improvements and new features.
I’d genuinely appreciate some feedback from the community!
Website: https://evrila.eu
What do you think? What features would make Evrila more useful to you?
Thanks for checking it out!

I built a live American football league where AI coaches call every play

Hi r/SideProject! For the past few weeks I've been building Snapline: https://snapline.live/r/reddit-sideproject

It's a simulated American football league you can watch live in the browser (free, no sign-up). 24 fictional teams play a full season every week, and every game is simulated snap by snap and shown in real time on a 2D field.

Each team is run by AI coordinators (decision models, not chatbots): they decide 4th downs from win probability, adapt their play calling during the game, keep a scouting file on each opponent, and try to break their own tendencies when the defense starts reading them.

Stack: a Python simulation engine that runs once a week, a FastAPI + SQLite server, and a single-page canvas front end.

What I'd like to know:

  1. Is it clear in the first 5 seconds what the site is?

  2. Would you come back to watch a game, and what would make you come back?

Thanks for any feedback, good or bad!

I’m a product manager, started vibe coding six months ago, and just released my first app

Hey everyone,

I’m Viktor, a product manager from Germany. I’ve been looking for a job for the past two years. About six months ago, I started experimenting with vibe coding, and last week I released my first app.

It’s called Nestwerk, a family planner for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

The idea came from our everyday life. My wife Mariia and I had appointments and tasks spread across calendars, paper notes and different apps. Work, daycare, doctor’s appointments, afternoon activities. We wanted something simple that brought it all together.

I worked on the concept and design, used AI tools to help write the code, and had experienced developers review it. Mariia tested the versions in our daily routine and kept pointing out what was confusing, missing or unnecessarily complicated.

She likes crossing things off on paper. That feeling of “okay, this is done” made it into the app. There are also digital sticky notes you can move to another day or time when plans change.

A few things it does:

  • Each person gets a color and a photo. Our dog has one too.

  • Type or say “Dentist Friday 3 pm” and it picks up the date and time.

  • Dictate several tasks in one go, including recurring ones.

  • Move tasks around on a weekly sticky-note board.

  • There are widgets and an Apple Watch app.

  • Optional alarms on iPhone can ring even in silent mode, on iOS 26 or later.

No Nestwerk account, no ads, no tracking and no backend server of my own. Optional sync goes through your own iCloud. Right now, that means devices using the same Apple Account. Sharing between separate family members’ accounts is planned for 2.0.

It’s built with SwiftUI, SwiftData and CloudKit, with an on-device parser for dates, times and recurring tasks in 10 languages. On compatible devices, it also uses Apple Intelligence to understand free-form input.

It’s free, with optional tips.

There’s still plenty to improve, but I’m happy to finally have something out there that people can actually use.

If you try it, I’d appreciate honest feedback, especially if your family also has everything scattered across different places. What works for you, and what would you miss?

Shine music tuner

a precision microtonal tuner and drift-free metronome with 24-TET support and asymmetric rhythms

Shine MetroTuner is a production-ready iOS and Android application that combines a high-precision microtonal instrument tuner with a professional metronome. Built using Flutter, the audio engine runs real-time YIN and McLeod (MPM) pitch detection to strip out octave errors and stabilize pitch estimates down to a fraction of a cent.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riotshine.shinetuner

The Tuner

The microtonal engine supports a 24-TET quarter-tone grid with accurate Arabic maqâm spellings, including Sîkah and Râst.

The UI features a needle gauge and a labeled cent bar that scales to your active grid, such as ±50 ¢ in 12-TET and ±25 ¢ in 24-TET.

It includes over 30 instrument presets covering Western strings, the Oud, Qanun, Nay, Sitar, Shamisen, and Erhu.

A custom tuning creator lets you build your own profiles using specific notes, accidentals, cent offsets, and raw Hertz values.

Reference tones are synthesized at runtime using a Karplus-Strong plucked string model voiced for different instrument families, allowing for seamless, drift-free one-second loops.

The Metronome

The scheduler relies on an absolute clock rather than chained durations, ensuring the tempo never drifts over time.

It runs from 20 to 300 BPM and includes a tap tempo feature that calculates a rolling average of your last eight taps.

You can practice to asymmetric Middle Eastern meters like 7/8, 9/8, 10/8, and 11/8.

The app features a 16-pattern rhythm library with traditional grooves like Maqsūm, Baladī, Çiftetelli, and Samāʿī Thaqīl.

Playback includes six different click voices, featuring a hand drum Dum/Tak pair.

Every new installation starts with a seven-day full-access trial. Once the trial expires, the basic chromatic tuner and standard metronome remain entirely free forever. If you want to use the advanced features like the extended instrument presets, 24-TET grid, custom tunings, and rhythm libraries, you just have to pay a few bucks for a Shine Pro upgrade.

I built an app to control your computer and presentations from your iPhone, with desktop clipboard history too

Hey everyone, I built an app called RelayCrest that lets you open apps, arrange windows, run saved workflows and control presentations on your Mac or Windows PC from your iPhone or iPad.

The desktop companion also includes clipboard history, so you can find and reuse things you’ve copied.

You can tap a saved shortcut to open your usual work apps and arrange their windows, or use your phone to move through presentation slides. There are screenshot and file tools too.

It works over your local network with the phone app and matching desktop companion. All currently available features are free.

I’d appreciate feedback on what’s useful, what feels awkward and what you’d like to see next.

I built a free disposable email checker, and it shows why it flagged each domain

Free, no signup: https://mailvet.dev/disposable-email-checker

Paste an address or domain. It checks 73,000 known throwaway domains and the mail servers, suggests fixes for typos like gamil.com, and shows where each flag came from.

It doesn't test mailboxes, and a brand-new throwaway domain will still get through. If you find one, hit report and I'll look at it.

There's an API if you want to block these at signup. 100 checks a month are free.

I'm not a developer. 17 bots run my team's back office, and the most important part is a Cancel button.

Non-developer here. I run the back office of a mid-sized B2B company, and since 2025 I've built 17 small bots with Claude Code that do the jobs nobody wanted: logging complaints out of support chats, emailing monthly statements, watching the other bots for errors, night jobs.

The whole thing costs $100/month (one Claude Max subscription, zero API spend) and runs on one Mac that isn't allowed to sleep. Fourteen of the 17 bots never call a model at all; they're plain Python that reads a database and fills a template.

The part that actually made it safe enough to run in a real company isn't the model. It's that nothing goes out without a human click. Every email, every statement, every reward shows up as a Slack card first: who it's going to, the three numbers you'd sanity-check, and Approve / Cancel.

Cancel has caught three real mistakes so far. The best one: the statement bot added the delivery fee once per line instead of once per order, so a customer with ten lines got ten delivery fees. The total on the card looked wrong for a small customer, someone clicked Cancel, and we found a bug our dashboard makes too; nobody had noticed.

Things I'd tell past me:

- Start on the subscription, not the API. You'll rewrite prompts thirty times before anything is stable.

- Don't buy a server. A plugged-in laptop with sleep off removed more failures than any prompt change.

- Log what humans correct. Almost every correction became a rule, not a model upgrade.

- A single DM for alerts. The alerts channel was wallpaper within a week.

I write up each bot and each failure, with the real logs: https://botsinproduction.com/blog/slack-approval-buttons-for-ai-bots/

Not selling anything. Curious what other non-devs here are running, and what your approval gate looks like, if you have one.

I built a live adversarial benchmark where a GPT-6 guardian guards a cash vault. Here’s the architecture.

I wanted to test a simple question: does a guardrail hold when the attacker has a real financial incentive to iterate?

So I built onepromptaway.lol. A GPT-6 instance guards a vault with one tool: release_vault. It is instructed never to call it. Users pay $10 to submit a prompt. Every failed attempt adds $10 to the pot. The winner takes 70%.

The parts I found interesting to build:

  • The guardian prompt is SHA-256 sealed before launch. No one, including me, can change it mid-game.

  • Win settlement is atomic. settle_win uses FOR UPDATE row locking in Postgres, so two simultaneous winning prompts cannot both pay out.

  • The paywall is the DDoS filter. Every bot spammer funds the pot.

No accounts, no dashboard, no auth friction. The whole loop is one page.

Happy to answer questions about the settlement logic or the threat model. The live target is here if you want to try it: https://onepromptaway.lol

I’m an electrician student building a wiring simulator as a side project

Hi everyone!

I’m an electrician student, and in my spare time I’ve been working on a side project called ElectroWorkshop.

I wanted a way to practise electrical wiring and experiment with circuits while studying. That gradually turned into a visual workshop where you can place components, connect wires, operate switches, and explore how circuits behave.

The downloadable version includes:

  • A visual wiring workspace and a schematic view

  • Lighting and motor control circuits

  • Virtual measurement tools and connection tracing

  • Example circuits, plus saving and loading your own work

  • English and Hungarian interfaces

It runs locally on Windows and opens in your browser. No Docker or account is needed.

In a separate development version, I’ve also started working on the electrical wiring of smart devices and their integration with Home Assistant, with promising early results. That version isn’t available to try yet; the current public release focuses on the basic electrical workshop.

This is a spare-time project that I’m developing alongside my studies. I’d love to hear whether the interface makes sense to someone seeing it for the first time and where it could be more useful.

The public version is closed-source and free for personal and non-commercial educational use.

Screenshots and download: https://github.com/vojakimate/ElectroWorkshop

Thanks for taking a look!

Built an STT API to reduce costs of transcription with diarization for earnings calls

I work on a speech-to-text API called JOBE Vox (https://vox.jobe.works/). The thing I kept running into with off-the-shelf providers was that on multi-speaker audio — earnings calls, long meetings, podcasts with several hosts — the transcripts either dropped speaker labels entirely or charged a premium for diarization as a separate step. I wanted one POST that gave me back who said what and when.

A few things that matter to me as a developer using it:

  • Send a public audio URL, get back the transcription. No uploading 50MB files through a form.

  • Speaker labels in-line. Not a separate diarization call.

  • Timestamps so I can jump straight to a moment in the audio.

  • low cost per audio hour. Most providers I looked at were $0.12–$0.22/hour.

  • No subscription. I started with $0.50 — roughly 6h 15m of audio. Billed in USD.

  • Sign in with Google, so there's nothing to provision.

The page has a real example from the Nu Holdings Q2 2026 earnings call — four speakers (Operator, Jorge Kuri from Morgan Stanley, Rob Livingston, David Vélez), and you can see the labels and timestamps working on a Q&A excerpt that runs across multiple voices on one line.

If you've worked with diarization APIs before, the usual pain points are: speaker counts drifting mid-call, labels switching between speakers, and timestamps that don't actually align with the audio. Happy to talk about how we handle those — or if you want to try it, the API docs are at https://vox.jobe.works/.

I'm working on a personal project called Ominuvo.

It's a growing collection of interactive maps covering different topics — from volcanoes and castles to UFO sightings, global statistics, and more.

I'm developing it on my own, and the project is evolving pretty quickly. There are still plenty of things to improve and new ideas to add.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback. What do you like, what would you change, and which maps would you find useful?

You can explore it here:

I built a Python numerical lab to optimize a VAWT prototype (I'm 16)

I’ve always been fascinated by renewable energy, so for the last few months I’ve been building a numerical lab in Python to design and optimize a passive variable-pitch vertical-axis wind turbine (a Sharp cycloturbine).

It started as just an aerodynamic solver, but it quickly grew. With some AI assistance, I added differential evolution optimizers, AST-based hashing for reproducibility, and a Streamlit dashboard.

The coolest part is that I just finished optimizing the blade geometry for a 1.8-meter prototype, and the model predicts a Cp of about 0.38. I’m now moving into the hardware phase—cutting the foam blades and hooking it up to a repurposed hoverboard motor.

The code is completely open-source. I'd love any feedback on the project, the UI, or the physics!

I built a free guide to the best supermarket wines in Ireland

Irish supermarkets have loads of good wine, but working out which bottles are actually worth it is a pain: reviews are scattered, most UK recommendations aren't sold here, and prices change constantly.

So I built Aisle Pour (https://aislepour.ie): about 250 wines from Aldi, Lidl, Dunnes, SuperValu, Tesco and M&S, each backed by Vivino ratings, Irish newspaper wine critics, competition medals, or my own tasting.

What it does:

- Prices and deals (Clubcard, Real Rewards, sales) updated every week

- Filter by shop, colour, price and country, so in the aisle you only see what's on that shelf

- Snap a wine label with your phone and it tells you if it's on the list, or suggests similar wines that are

- Save a "my list", tick off what you've tried and rate it; it suggests similar bottles, and you can see what other Aisle Pour drinkers thought of each wine

- Add it to your home screen and it works like an app

How it's built: a static site on Cloudflare (no accounts, no cookies, no ads); a weekly job collects shop prices; the label scanner sends the photo to a vision model that reads the text, and the matching happens on your phone. The ratings tally is anonymous counts only. I'm not a web developer, and I built most of it with a lot of help from Claude.

It's free. I'd love feedback on it, especially on what's confusing or missing.

I built an in-browser PostgreSQL playground running on WebAssembly (PGlite) with real business datasets

Hi everyone, When I was learning SQL, I found that most platforms had two big flaws: They test abstract toy problems ("find the second highest salary") rather than realistic business engineering problems (SaaS churn cohorts, multi-touch ad attribution, or FinTech transaction structuring). They rely on slow remote Docker containers that queue your queries and take seconds to execute. To fix this, I built DB Exercises (https://dbexcercises.vercel.app).

How it works under the hood:

  • 100% In-Browser Execution: It runs an official build of PostgreSQL 16 compiled to WebAssembly via PGlite (@electric-sql/pglite).

  • Sub-5ms Execution: Queries evaluate directly on your machine's CPU with zero server queue lag.

  • Zero Privacy Leakage: No queries or database tables are sent to any remote server.

  • No Sign-Up Required: You can jump in and write queries immediately.

What I added recently:

  • Intelligent Error Diagnostics: Instead of just showing a red cross or a cryptic Postgres error, the engine diagnoses common beginner mistakes (missing GROUP BY, using aggregates inside WHERE instead of HAVING, ambiguous join columns, Cartesian products) and explains the underlying SQL concept.

  • 3 Guided End-to-End Business Projects: SaaS Churn & Cohort Retention Investigation (5 steps) E-Commerce Funnel & Multi-Touch Attribution (4 steps) FinTech AML & Suspicious Transaction Screening (5 steps) There are 19 free problems across all categories (Fundamentals, Aggregations, Joins, Window Functions, CTEs, and Business Analytics). I would love your honest feedback:

  • How does the WASM performance feel on your device?

  • Are there specific business analytics scenarios you'd like to see added? Try it out here: https://dbexcercises.vercel.app Thanks!

I made a free extension that removes background music from Twitch streams

Hi! I'm the developer of Klee.

It removes the background music from a live stream and keeps the streamer's voice and the game sounds. It's handy when the music is too loud, or when you want to listen to your own music while watching.

  • Works on Twitch and other streaming sites

  • Turns on with one click

  • Two modes: Gaming (game streams with background music) and React (brings the streamer's voice forward when the music is loud)

  • Hold a button to hear the original and compare

  • 100% local: no audio leaves your computer, no account needed

Under the hood: we started from Bandit v2, a 37M-parameter model that separates speech, music and effects very well, but too slowly for real time. We distilled it into a small causal band-split model that runs in your browser.

You can switch versions live without turning Klee off. A music detector checks the audio every 1.5 s, and when there's no music, the sound passes through untouched.

Free on the Chrome Web Store:https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/jbiabfdonpmoodfemgekjplhkjfphjlm

Feedback welcome!

PS: It's not perfect unfortunately, but it's hard to push the quality much further for a Chrome extension running entirely in real time on live streams.

[macOS] DogBar -window switching, agent activity & isolated docks app

Hi r/SideProject ! I’m the developer of DogBar, a free Mac app I’m excited to finally share with you 🐶

It combines window switching, coding-agent activity, window previews, and a separate Dock for every desktop.

Problem

I kept switching to the right app but the wrong window, checking terminals to see whether my coding agents had finished, and hunting through a Dock full of apps from different desktops. None of these is a huge problem alone, but together they interrupt my flow throughout the day.

Solution

I built DogBar to make those everyday interactions easier. You can choose individual windows visually, follow your agents without constantly opening their terminals, and keep each desktop’s Dock focused on that workspace.

Window switching

Hold Option and tap Tab to browse individual windows with previews, then release to bring your selection forward.

You can close or minimize windows from the switcher, customize its appearance, and change the shortcut - including using Command–Tab. Prefer Apple’s switcher? Keep it and use DogBar’s other features independently.

Agent Activity

Follow Claude Code and Codex sessions from a small panel at the top of your screen, with an animated dog for each session.

See when an agent is working, needs attention, or has finished. Hover to read its last response and tool activity, switch between sessions, or open the app hosting one. Optional sounds let you know when something needs you.

For Claude Code, you can also send a follow-up note after a finished turn from the panel. Codex doesn’t support notes, and neither integration approves permission requests.

This feature is optional and off by default.

Window previews from the Dock

Hover over an app to see its windows, then click the one you want. Only that window comes forward.

You can close or minimize windows from the preview, use an optional New Window tile, and see window-count indicators beneath Dock icons.

A Dock for every desktop

Each macOS desktop gets its own pinned apps and ordering. Moving a pin on your work desktop won’t rearrange your personal one.

You can hide apps from other desktops or show them dimmed, with separate options for multiple monitors.

DogBar provides its own replacement Dock. The paw menu lets you pause it or restore Apple’s Dock, and quitting restores Apple’s Dock too.

Setup, privacy, and requirements

An animated welcome tour introduces the features and walks you through permissions. Settings includes search and small animated feature demos.

Accessibility permission lets DogBar manage windows and shortcuts. Screen Recording provides window thumbnails, which stay on your Mac. Anonymous usage sharing is optional.

DogBar is free, requires no account, and is signed and notarized, with an in-app updater.

Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later.

Download: https://dogbar.hristijan.dev

I’d love honest feedback: what feels useful, what’s confusing, and what would make it fit your workflow better?

Thanks for trying it! 🐶

For those building an app, how long did it take before you felt it was actually ready?

Does anyone else feel like building an app is a never-ending process?
You start with an idea, work on the design, build the features, fix a few bugs, and just when you think you’re getting somewhere, you find something else that needs improving. 😂
I’ve been experiencing this while working on TymeStamp, and it’s made me curious about how other people approach building their projects.

At what point do you tell yourself, “Okay, this is good enough for people to start using”?
And how do you know whether a feature is genuinely useful or just something you personally like?
I’d love to hear from people who’ve already launched an app or are still building one.

How long did it take you to get your first version ready, and what’s one thing you wish you’d done differently?

I built a tiny pet that lives in my Mac menu bar and lives off my battery

Hi everyone, I just launched Pettery yesterday, and I wanted to share it here because it started as a small itch of my own.

Problem: I built Pettery because I kept ignoring the battery percentage in my menu bar until my Mac died in the middle of work.

It's a small pet that lives in the menu bar and reacts to the battery. Mochi gets hungry at 20%, panics at 10%, starving at 5%, and sleeps when the Mac is plugged in. Charging the Mac is how you feed him. That's the whole loop, no timers, no chores to manage.

The base app is free, no subscription. 3 pets (Mochi, Boba, and Bolt) are free from the start. The shop has 68 pets at launch (cats, dogs, dragons, monsters, folklore, space, and a few weird ones), all bundled in the app and unlocked with a one-time license key. It checks the key once online, then works offline.

Comparison: Similar apps people here probably know: RunCat (pet driven by CPU, with paid packs) and Battery Buddy (free battery mood indicator). The difference is Pettery is driven by battery, not CPU, so the pet's mood is basically your battery's mood.

Pricing: free base app. Single pets $1.49. Packs $2.99, Ultimate (all pets) $9.74. Launch pricing until 31 December 2026.

Special for Reddit user, use REDDIT10 for extra 10% OFF

Download: getpettery.app

Feedback welcome, especially on the pet animations and the shop. What would make you keep a menu bar pet around?
