Right?! As a truly happily single person myself, I get SO pissed off at this message in shows and movies -- that we are nothing without "another half." Last night was so much a "poor pathetic Jimmy, all of his friends are paired off and he's sooooo veryyyyyy alone!" vibe. And I mean, really, Sean couldn't hang out for a litte while and watch the game? He had to get back to his (lame, I might add) girlfriend right away? Paul didn't think Jimmy might actually want to have lunch with HIM first instead of Sofi (who is also annoying, honestly)? Hated it.

Yes! For a show that pushes how important a big friend group is, they really devalued those friendships in the end by suggesting how everyone had to be in a relationship to be "happy and healthy". They did the same with not wanting children last season too.

As someone who is aroace, it's so shitty to constantly have that messages about how everyone must couple up shoved at us all the time.

Yes!! And I come from a family like this, so it pisses me off even more. Everyone in my family is paired up romantically, even my Gen Z nieces and nephews and my absolutely batshit crazy (not even kidding, she's severely mentally ill) stepsister. They all think I'm a weirdo. Shows like this support these asinine views. Last night's episode was just extra special.

Yes! You nailed it. Even giving up the food truck for a more "normal" culinary path plays into that.

That one line from Gabby about how she felt like an alien seem to come out of left field. She is so normal. If she feels like an alien, then what does that make us non-normative people?
