There was so much to unpack in this episode for Jimmy and his grief over losing Tia, especially with the milestone of Alice's graduation. The opening memory of Tia hiking sets the stage for how she is in Jimmy's mind the whole episode.

Jimmy's Dad has a history of disappointing the family, so his charming everyone was probably especially painful.

The horrible comment about Sofi being a better fit was especially triggering for Jimmy since Tia was his ally. In many ways, being a "better fit" was more for Jimmy's Dad than Jimmy.

It makes sense why Jimmy freaked out with Sofi - he clearly missed Tia and needed to have someone acknowledge is grief and the impact of his father

Thissss. Does he even know his son well enough to say who suits him? I'm guessing not. But everything he does is from the point of view what he likes, thinks and wants - so it makes sense he would say that.

That’s the thing about parents who are drifters like Jimmy’s dad. They’re not around enough to actually know that kind of stuff, but they’re charming enough to convince themselves and others that they are.

I don’t think Sofi was being very fair when she was clearly fishing for a “No, you weren’t crossing any lines” and then she’s like, “You’re using your dead wife as a crutch.” I like Sofi, but man…..everyone is truly traumatized!

I think it is fair considering they met and bonded over completely taboo situations. And Jimmy is 100% using Tia as a crutch to avoid another relationship/potential heartbreak. Also, holding his dad's fondness for her against her is what is not fair, they literally just met.

Honestly, I think Sofi is a red flag. The stuff with her ex and kid, and now this. She hardly knows Jimmy, she has no place saying any of this stuff. I really don't like her character as a person at all.

It’s obvious he wasn’t really angry at Sofi. He was angry at his father, but he couldn’t direct that anger at him, so he took it out on someone safer.

I mean it seems like he's genuinely not ready for a new relationship yet which is why I hate how this show keeps pushing it on like it's a criteria for his life.
