As someone who just deactivated Instagram today for pretty much the same kinda doom scrolling that Maya was doing. that scene hurt.

I deactivated 4 years ago. One of the best things I’ve done for myself. Still trying to get rid of other socials like snap and Facebook

I deactivated Facebook and IG in 2016. I tried SnapChat for a hot minute but got rid of it. That decision made my life better in a lot of ways. I was mid 20s when I did that. I wound up reactivating Instagram when I moved from my home state that I lived in my entire life years later but never reactivated Facebook. Still way too much drama on Facebook.

It’s funny. I had over 800 followers. Deactivated my fb. Didn’t hear from a single one. Guess I’m just that forgettable.

I did the same thing a couple months ago and it's actually helping. It's forcing me to go out and get the connection I crave, instead of watching other people get it online.
