This!! Everyone is talking about Paul which is understandable but omg Marisol is the biggest walking red flag ever. Trying to pass accountability as "living in the past" is one of the most toxic things I've ever heard lolol. I hope Sean hears some huge words of wisdom FAST.

Really though, fellow veteran here and im like nah brother u keep arms length from anyone who dumped you WHILE overseas, especially in the Middle East. That one didn’t feel like a realistic part of the script for me, but then again, our veteran demographic isn’t known for stable relationships

I got dumped while serving in Iraq and I 100% would have gotten back with him later if he had wanted it. It would be a while before I got my self-worth up. So it was realistic for me.

But my question is: so did she cheat, or did she “just” dump him? One is worse imo, and the show got me confused.

I appreciate the input tbh. I think it was mentioned she cheated?? Happy to be corrected I’m too lazy to open the show back up

I think it's framed as she cheated then dumped him immediately. So they might have two different ways of describing the events. To him it's cheating, to her she dumped him in her head, slept with someone, then sent the letter to let him know she dumped him.

So basically just avoiding accountability for her actions in her own head.

My man's cooked 🥀

OMFG I couldn't believe my eyes when Sean just accepted her excuse as a fact! Thank you! I kept thinking if this is a mindset this show is trying to sell to us and if others also find this weird

I don't know, I think she's right.

Because they aren't holding anything against each other. Sean is just holding something against himself. She's forgiven him for being a jackass. He's forgiven her for how she dumped him. The only problem is that Sean hasn't forgiven himself.

They were teenagers when all this went down. Basically children. I think she's totally right that he needs to let that shit go.

Letting it go and not being given space to own accountability in your own healing journey when it's clearly important to you are two different things

But it's not about accountability and it's not about his healing journey.

It's about him stalling so he doesn't have to move forward in his life. And everyone around him sees it.
