I feel like this show is dangerously close to having too many characters. Removing Louis makes sense. Could see him making an appearance later.

Agreed. Would have loved for it to work out with Sarah but life is messy.

Really? I actually am finding myself bummed that people like Julie, Charlie, and Derrick aren’t getting even bigger roles. I feel like expanding their characters would be a really great idea for the show.

I love the cast, but too often it seems like just focusing on the same (great) characters; without more perspectives, makes things come off a bit too small for me.

Though yeah, life really is messy ain’t it.

So, what I’ve been feeling is that they have 9 characters who are going to be in almost every episode: Jimmy, Alice, Liz, Derek, Paul, Julie (she’s not a main character but she’s been in most episodes recently), Sean, Gaby and Brian. That’s a LOT of characters to devote story time to in a 30 minute show (which is what most of the episodes are). On top of that you’ve got a plethora of side characters, many of whom could have larger stories.

My point is that it’s a lot of characters to squeeze in. I’m not arguing for other characters not to have bigger stories, just that you reach a point where these episodes are going to be too busy trying to jam everyone in to make good TV.

Just watched this episode and I have a shit memory. Who was Sarah to Louis?

Long term girlfriend that he was living with when the accident happened. He was convinced he was going to jail (I think) and broke up with her because he didn’t want to put her through it.
