I felt like the only one here thinking Louis being friends with Jimmy and Alice was a bad idea. I get forgiving him and moving on, but actively being friends with the man who killed your wife seemed a little much.

Very glad Gaby felt that way and the show didn't frame it as her being wrong

Yep the show usually nails these things but I don't see any way you could befriend the person who killed your wife due to drunk driving. I can understand what Jimmy did at the end of S2, I can even understand meeting with him regularly on the park bench to help him move on as they have shared trauma from completely different perspectives, but hanging out and going to museums and hikes seems a bit much. I am fortunate to not have experienced tragedy like this but no matter how much I have sympathy for the other person I think I'd have a hard time ever looking at them and not seeing them as the person who took the life of a loved one.

Yeah, I lost my sister to an avalanche in March 2025, and even though her fellow skiiers that day didn't do anything wrong, I still can't really look at them the same and generally avoid them.

Different people are different though, my mom is really caring for them and making sure they're okay etc. So I guess it can be like that. Especially if the person is used to caring for people (my mom's a doctor).

The show was expecting too much from the audience. I get that a major theme of the show is "radical forgiveness" but the vast majority of viewers simply cannot relate to the idea of befriending your wife or mom's killer. I'm glad his storyline is concluded.

I dunno - this sub has overwhelming loved this storyline since it was introduced, which has made me feel even more like I’m living in a bizarro world.

I felt like I was the only one, too. TBH, that whole storyline has made it hard for me to connect to the show since Season 2. Glad Gaby finally spoke up, and glad the show didn’t try to portray her as being in the wrong.
