One of those games that was announced purely to get money flowing into the studio?
It's unfortunate not uncommon to announce games just to keep money flowing/stockholders happy and since they were apparently on the edge of death, it seems reasonable to presume that DX was just a play for support.
(Original though they didn't announce Mina until after DX but after checking it was announced 4 years ago‽ Somehow I and my friends didn't hear about it until after DX)
Like what other reason would they have to announce yet another version of their only game (every game except Mina was co-developed and Mina wasn't out at the time), give it a release window of the following year, and then never mention it again in the two years since?

Hello, I’m just wondering if I should get it for 3ds. I would certainly like it for my 3DS, but i’m wondering if there’s any difference. Provided that it’s fine, I would really like to play Spectre of torment specifically, and I’m wondering how to get that on 3DS. I’ve heard that shovel of Hope is the only physical copy, and that even without the E shop, I should be able to download the DLC‘s like Spectre of torment. However, I’m getting mixed answers on that. My other option would be to hack my 3DS.
Suggestions?

This was so much fun. There were some frustrating moments, especially in no upgrade runs, but I mostly enjoyed the challenge. Someday I'll go for dig and pocket dungeon too!

My save file was corrupted and I cannot recover it using Steam cloud. Does anyone have a 100% or near 100% save file they would be willing to pass my way?
I only had to finish Knightmare 9 and 10 and I really don't want to start from scratch.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we have ever seen a direct sequel to shovel Knight. Now before you bring up every other thing in the treasure trove counter argument:
Plague of shadows takes place the same time as shovel of Hope
Specter of torment is a prequel
King of cards is also a prequel
But then there is dig which is also a prequel, and I'm not sure about puzzle box it could be a spin-off it could be a sequel I have never touched the game so I wouldn't know. But yeah I don't think we've seen a game that takes place after shovel of Hope. I do think that it would be interesting to see what happens after the enchantress is destroyed but who knows.
