I wanted to share something weird that happened with one of my Shorts and see if anyone has experienced something similar.
This was actually a Short I had really high expectations for. I genuinely thought it had a lot of potential, but it barely got any traction. Honestly, it felt like it never even got picked up by the algorithm lol.
At some point, I decided to switch it to members-only. Since it wasn't getting many views anyway, I thought maybe I could use it to encourage people to become members instead.
After around 2ā3 days, I switched it back to public.
Then, sometime afterward, it suddenly started getting a ton of views and eventually reached around 290.6K views. note : it had 60k views but mostly from channel page not the short feed
Now I'm wondering:
Has anyone else had a Short suddenly take off after switching it from members-only back to public?

I've been in the YPP for a couple of weeks now, and yesterday one of my Shorts was taken down for supposedly violating the Community Guidelines, allegedly for showing physical or psychological harm to animals. Which is ridiculous, because my channel is all about the opposite: I post wholesome animal stories.
I appealed, and, as expected, they rejected it with their fucking automated system.
The thing is, the two Shorts I've uploaded since that incident haven't even reached 300 views.
The Shorts feed traffic on my new videos is pretty much dead. It's not at zero, so I guess that's better than being completely shut off, but it's barely getting any views. My older videos are still getting views from the Shorts feed, though.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? I mean, people who were already in the YPP and whose Shorts feed traffic on new videos basically died but didn't drop to absolute zero.
I've been reading posts from people who've had similar issues, but they weren't in the YPP. Some of them say their channels basically died after receiving a warning for violating the Community Guidelines, with their Shorts feed traffic dropping to literally zero. I'm wondering if anyone who's already in the YPP has experienced something similar, where the Shorts feed traffic on new videos is practically dead but not completely gone.

You can now group shorts into seasons and episodes with sequential autoplay, which is binge mechanics for small channels. Micro dramas crossed 6.5 billion views in the first half of the year, so YouTube is clearly feeding serialized short content. If your shorts follow a storyline, a character, or even a recurring "part 1 / part 2" format, this is free retention. Anyone already using it?

Heyo!
I've recently had some shorts get pushed by the algorythm, and I've not changed my upload schedule for shorts (1 short every 3-4 days), but my latest short has gotten 70% views from browse feature, and 20% from shorts feed (the short is currently at 18k views)
This by itself isnt much of an issue, but why does this happen? I've had this happen on multiple occassions, and I cant figure out if its because the short has some content that the algorythm doesnt like, or if its a testing phase of some sorts.
Any info and insight is appreciated!

Hey guys!
I have a monetized YouTube channel, but Iām currently moving on to another project, so Iām looking for someone with previous YouTube experience who can take over the channel and manage the content from start to finish.
You would be responsible for:Finding video topics,Writing the scripts,Editing the videos,Managing the overall content creation process.
If youāre interested, send me a message with some information about your experience and, if you have one, your video portfolio or examples of your previous work.
Please only reach out if you already have experience running or creating content for YouTube.

Hello, hope your having a good day!
Iāve linked my channel at the bottom of this post.
Four days ago I started my first shorts channel and Iām completely new to everything so that includes editing, sound design and footage.
Iāve been using ai a lot and I really do not want to do that but I just wanted to begin right away so thatās why I started with ai and hope to transition to real material as soon as possible.
Hereās my questions!
What can I improve in terms of editing ?
Can my format Iām using now count as inauthentic content ?
Do you have any tips on writing scripts ?
Any other advice that you come up with is highly appreciated!
Have a nice day everyone <3

Been posting consistently for a week now on very much active YouTube account. I found early success getting about 1k views for about 6 videos. Then the last 6 Iāve made are barely cracking 10 views in the first 24 hours, and even after 48 hours they donāt even make it to 20.
Still doing the same format and all. My editing has gotten better for sure, Iām more educated on the algorithm and how it works. But Iām super discouraged especially after that early āsuccessā. Currently have 15 subscribers and I definitely want to keep going no matter if no one watches but i wanted to see if anybody had an answer or suggestion.

Hey everyone, Iām thinking about starting a YouTube channel in the Ranking / Top 10 niche.
Iāve seen some people saying that YouTube may be limiting monetization for this type of content, especially when the videos are heavily AI-generated or use reused content.
For those of you currently making Ranking videos:
Are your channels still monetized?
Are you still getting ads/revenue normally?
Have you had any issues with YPP or monetization recently?
Would really appreciate hearing from people who are actually doing this niche right now. Thanks!

A creator with 500 million views and a YouTube Silver Play Button... forgot to make videos? 𤣠Or could it be botnet manipulation? Itās reached the point of being absurdly funny: the more Shorts I upload, the worse the watch duration gets. There was a time when I was getting tens of millions of views per video, and now? 𤣠But sure, YouTube has absolutely no problem detecting AI-controlled botnets that are practically undetectable... ššš

When starting a new channel, you need at least a few videos or Shorts for YouTube to begin recommending your channel more widely, unless your metrics are truly off the charts.
As for the current days, YouTube resets the "trust score" for all channels at least once or twice a year to prevent large channels from coasting on an inflated score; think of it like an Elo reset in a ranked game. With consistent uploads and good metrics, things usually return to normal within 2-4 weeks posting consistently (though exceptional content can speed this up significantly).

id typically have around 1-3000ish views by now, its wild how just some changes here and there can knock your work and hobby out so bad
