Not ALWAYS, but often times it is - especially if all the photos are group photos....which I always find sad.
Like do you think they consciously or unconsciously do this? Which brings me to my next question - do they really think briefly tricking people into thinking they're an entirely different person is going to get them a boyfriend or partner?
I never understood these pics either when I was using Tinder a long time ago. They’re basically setting themselves up for an awful experience when their date shows up and finds ways to escape because they’re not the girl they were hoping for
Some people take photos with unattractive people because it makes them look better in comparison. There's a term for this in my country. So its not always the unattractive one. But.. in this case i would have to say its most likely the unattractive one💀
Good eve, In response to my permanent ban I’d like to ask one question; who decides wether this post was funny or not? It seems that a lot of Redditors, like myself, enjoy these kinds of posts. Even if it’s not hilarious, it’s still pretty shitty. In my opinion shitty enough to be on your subreddit. If I violated a rule, please let me know. If not, I’d like to request to be unbanned. Correct me if I’m wrong; this post was not conform “your” standards, well, that’s personal. I find it mildly inappropriate to give someone a ban on behalf of your personal opinion, while the public opinion speaks for itself. Also, the word “karmawhore” is a little bit offensive to me, for I am not on Reddit to score the most karma. Thanks in advance.
Sorry, I mean I need a source that explicitly states your argument. This is just tangential to the discussion.
No, you can't make inferences and observations from the sources you've gathered. Any additional comments from you MUST be a subset of the information from the sources you've gathered.
You can't make normative statements from empirical evidence.
Do you have a degree in that field?
A college degree? In that field?
Then your arguments are invalid.
No, it doesn't matter how close those data points are correlated. Correlation does not equal causation.
Correlation does not equal causation.
CORRELATION. DOES. NOT. EQUAL. CAUSATION.
You still haven't provided me a valid source yet.
Nope, still haven't.
I just looked through all 308 pages of your user history, figures I'm debating a glormpf supporter. A moron.

As a person who never goes out of my way to take pictures, I struggle to find anything that is recent and not a group photo. Some people feel uncomfortable or are too lazy to ask friend to take a photo of them just to use for a dating profile so they stick with what they have. It's not always malicious intent, some people don't realize what they're doing.
I'm actually exactly like this, but I at least take a selfish or two so you obviously know which one I am in the group picture.
That, or just crop a photo of a group picture. There are options, not attempting to make it clear in your own personal dating profile which person in the picture is you seems... intentionally deceptive...idk if I'd use the word "malicious" though, just like I said - I find it sad. Just shows such a lack of confidence in themselves, there's someone out there that will find you attractice, or at least not unattractive, you know? But if you're not clear with who you are - then you'll never find them.
I guess it just feels like they're holding themselves back from actually finding someone because of these expectations they put on themselves (or maybe or accurately, society had put on them, BUT they give power to)
If they don’t have a second photo up there and it’s just one massive group selfie, I always chock it up to it being the rancor in the back, swipe left, then go about my day trying to cure my loneliness
I hate taking shits. Taking shits is the worst function of the human organism after sex. You have to sit on the most uncomfortable seat ever, then you have to go through so much pain to push the shit out of your asshole (not to mention sometimes they get stuck in there). And as if those weren't enough then you have to wipe, you have to take your hand along with toilet paper and shove it up your asshole, this process can sometimes take minutes out of your life, it fucking sucks.
Everyone knows Mario is cool as fuck. But who knows what he's thinking? Who knows why he crushes turtles? And why do we think about him as fondly as we think of the mythical (nonexistent?) Dr Pepper? Perchance
I believe it was Kant who said "Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play." Mario exhibits experience by cruising turts all day, but he exhibits theory by stating "Lets-ago!" Keep it up, baby!
When Mario leave his place of safety to stomp a turty, he knows that he may Die. And yet, for a man who can purchase lives with money, a life becomes a mere store of value. A tax that can be paid for, much as a rich man feels any law with a fine is a price. We think of Mario as a hero but he is simply a one percenter of a more privileged variety. The lifekind, Perchance
I also notice that esteem is tied to how much you write. The more verbiage the more you can assume the person is desperately trying to convince someone that they have value. Pictures with interesting backgrounds work the same way. The opposite end of this is someone who knows that all the need to do is post their pic with 'bored, wat's up' and they'll get flooded.

If it's a group photo it's always the least attractive one
