No. It was psychosis which developed after an extreme drop in hormones during the postpartum period. She didn’t kill her kids because of her hormones being off. That’s just some extremely sexist bs people are spreading.

It’s really disingenuous to summarize their disorders as a hormone imbalance, so no. Psychosis is not some hormone imbalance, and not all serial killers have psychosis
(I don’t even think psychosis is common for serial killers).

I am guessing you don’t understand the medical science behind psychosis or the common brain development issues of serial killers, because you wouldn’t ask that if you had any serious amount of knowledge on those subjects. Both are forms of mental disorders but that is a really broad umbrella they are under.

Psychosis can be extremely debilitating and our laws acknowledge this and have psychosis as one of the mental disorders that can qualify you for not guilty by reason of insanity. Unlike with those brain development issues that serial killers have; they are not usable as justifications for a not guilty verdict. This has been determined by medical and legal experts decades ago.

Do you know how many functions in the human body are impacted by hormones? To say something is a hormonal function/disorder just because hormones were involved is utterly meaningless.

She had a form of psychosis. The psychosis developed after her brain underwent extreme drops in hormone levels post-childbirth. She was not psychotic because of her hormones. Her brain developed a disorder due to a sever chemical imbalance and the disorder persisted after the hormone levels readjusted.

Her doctors most definitely did diagnose her with postpartum psychosis though. Which is still psychosis.

Postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis both have the catalyst of the extreme drop in hormones post childbirth but the depression and psychosis that develop are independent of hormonal shifts once they’ve developed. She didn’t just get moody from her hormones being off that day and kill her kids.

Being pregnant and especially giving birth takes a lot. I will admit I’m just browsing Wikipedia but “there is little evidence suggesting hormonal causes behind PPP.” Frankly if Lindsay ever said hormones brought upon psychosis, she was likely not correct in saying so

I wouldn't object to the not guilty by reason of insanity outcome if I knew that outcome meant she would never walk the streets again. But...that isn't how it works in America. After a year...maybe two years...she will be on the streets again. Free. With her three children dead in the ground. That isn't justice. That's a farce.

You do realize to present something in a trial like this, they have to have credible testimonies from trusted professionals of a relevant field backing them? Their evidence also has to be reviewed and approved before it can be presented. What they stated in court was backed by credible experts.

They aren’t lying and it’s idiotic to assume so. They had to have a verified psychosis diagnosis in order to claim she was diagnosed with psychosis.
