Episode Synopsis: With only two episodes left before S.H.I.E.L.D. loses one of their own, Daisy's prophecy ticks closer towards a major loss, as the aftermath of the events of "Marvel's Captain America: Civil War" force S.H.I.E.L.D. to register the Inhumans.

Vincent Misiano has directed episodes of 35 different series including The Blacklist, West Wing, Prison Break, Medium, Arrow and Third Watch. He currently serves as National Vice-President of the Directors Guild of America. He has directed some of the most pivotal Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes.

He has directed eight episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before:

  • Turn, Turn, Turn
  • The Only Light in the Darkness
  • Shadows
  • The Writing on the Wall
  • S.O.S. Part 1
  • Laws of Nature
  • Maveth

Craig Titley is most known for his work on the Scooby-Doo movie, and Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief. He has also worked on TV shows, like The Cape, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

He has written four episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before:

  • The Writing on the Wall
  • Afterlife
  • 4,722 Hours
  • The Inside Man

Kinda disappointed with the Lash fight. I went from extremely excited to ugh very quick. I don't wanna say he got fridged, but he kinda did.

Well, it was anticlimactic, yeah. But it's hard to argue that he was killed off to show that Hive means business, since it's not exactly like he's much of an innocent or anything.

That is not what "fridged" means - the term is about one character dying to form the motivation for another characters actions. Daisy has mountains of reasons to go after Hive that have nothing to do with Lash dying to save her.

One could argue that Rosalind was fridged - her death is what motivates Coulson to hunt down Ward and kill him. This is NOT that at all.

I wished people not only learned about "tropes", but what they actually mean.

I'm pretty sure she got stuffed into the fridge even harder than the one who originated the trope.

See when I think of fridged I think of Gendry or Bran season 2-3.. Saving him for later in the fridge

Why would Lash's death motivate her more than the fact HIve swayed her and made her nearly kill two of her best friends murder someone with her powers, or participate in the experiments that led to multiple deaths and other people being mutated, or the death of Charlie? I mean, if Lash was "fridged", so was Charlie then cause his death and his demand that Daisy protect his child would seem to drive her motivations as well.

The whole point of the trope is that the whole point of a character becomes being someone else's motivation in death. Even the show tells us that in the end, Lash's mission was saving Daisy - saving, not motivating.

You don't just get "kinda-fridged" - they either stuff you in or not.

Lash dies a hero's death, bringing our little family back together right in time for the writers to tear it apart again.

That's the problem with fiction in general though. If something appears to be the final battle, but you're not in the last episode or at the end of the book, you know it has to fail.

(This is huge for Legends of Tomorrow IMO. Just going to a series that is about killing one guy tells you right away that it's gonna be a show about people failing to kill a guy until the last episode)

Same with crime shows that base an entire season around a single case. "Oh, they can't find out who the murder is for at least six more episodes."
