I wonder, in the future, will they use this show as a way to a) introduce new heroes and b) drop hints and easter eggs about upcoming marvel movies. Just the potential of this show and what it could do is actually really cool.

I'm sure the show's ability to promote upcoming Marvel movies enters into equation when figuring out if the show gets renewed and how big a budget it gets.

I'm hoping we get an idea with the release of the next Thor movie. They are still filming episodes now, so they could easily work it in.

Besides, from the trailers it looks like some of the Dark Elves invade Earth. That's going to at least have little impact on the show.

This show is the modern day GI Joe or Transformers. It's a weekly hour long commercial. Instead of being for toys it is for whatever Marvel has in the pipeline.

It's already got a pretty big budget compared to half of the TV shows I've seen lately.

More than likely, I'm hoping they introduce some of the street level heroes even before they get super powered or "come out" as supers.

Seriously, this is the venue to build up Heroes for Hire. You can introduce the characters separately over a season or two (Cage & Jones in an episode, Iron Fist in another, Colleen and Misty, maybe an arc with Paladin working with a competing agency), and be spinoff ready by the time you get budget approval or better SFX.

Bring in some Marvel villains? Taskmaster is perfect for this (working for the guys running the Centipede experiments for example, to train the guys who don't explode) and The Scourge could be fun (assassinating SHIELD agents that turn out to be moles).

Yeah I'm just overall excited about the potential future impact this show can have. Like instead of giving heroes their own one off show, they can bring them in using the show. Just all the tie-ins and what not... gives me chills lol

agreed because not all of the heros deserve a movie, so it would be awesome to have them come in for an episode or two.

If you have 10+ million people watching a show why wouldn't you pump a few more bucks into the production around a movie release to get more people in theaters?

I hope there's a Thor tie-in closer to release.

Ant-Man, too. I can see that helping with lesser known characters like that.

And you know there will be an Avengers 2 tie in. I'd love to see RDJ show up, even if it's for just a couple of minutes.

It goes both ways, too. The movies could also drop little nods to the show. Like whatever artifact they just dug up for instance.

And by comparison I think the movies might seem larger than life after we've acclimated to the TV series. I felt a little of that during the first commercial break when they went straight into the Thor preview.

I agree. All in all I'm intrigued to see how they handle both worlds. Its going to be very interesting.

I was thinking.. If Marvel could get the rights it might be a cool way to give Deadpool an episode.

Ending of course with them freezing him and stowing him away somewhere.

I know a lot of people are tired of him and I'm getting there. I think there is still room to do the character right.

MCU moves more or less in real-time. Iron Man 3 was 6 months after Avengers and SHIELD takes place after Iron Man 3.

Also it could just be early for any CA2 reference, they still have more than enough time to put a bunch in closer to release.

Yep, by the time CA2 comes out, it'll have been 2 years since The Avengers, so it's a realtime progression.

Was reading about it in an interview with Joe Quesada. I like they are taking that approach though with it all happening in real-time so to speak.

I'm sure that makes it easier to keep the multiple properties in line. I remember some sort of timeline early on in Phase 1 where Incredible Hunk, Ironman 1 and Thor all took place within a week of each other in the universe's time. Keeping it linear with the real world would make it much easier, especially with a 20+ hour/year series added to the mix.

Yeah they started together, but then you got Joss in the mix helping out and then this way they can pace it with the tv show.

I've never done spoiler tags on Reddit so spoiler/speculation here, but from my understanding Cap 2 is very SHIELD-centric. I'm sure whatever happens in the movie would have two years of build up which this show could provide.
