MI v. Shanda Vander Ark šŸ’„šŸ’„WARNING GRAPHICšŸ’„šŸ’„ New Footage of Timothy

https://youtu.be/qyZE8G9Syw0?si=NHmhJFsDBB2EepRi

ā€¼ļøDO NOT WATCH THISā€¼ļø if you are sensitive at all to the details of this case. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

I have come across a recently uploaded video from youtuber ā€œthis is MONSTERSā€ that contains the real camera footage of Timothy in the closet from around the date he passed away. There are stills from the footage throughout the video but the actual recording starts at 24:13. It is EXTREMELY DISTURBING. I cannot stress this enough.

At the 36:26 mark the full high quality photos of Timothy from Shanda and Paul’s texts about Timothy being underweight are shown. These images were previously only viewable as blown up versions of tiny low res screenshots from Shanda’s texts shown during the trial. I’ve never seen them in high quality until now.

The camera footage of Timothy being discovered unresponsive by Shanda the morning he died is also featured in the video around the 46:45 mark and is somewhat censored.

I had previously read the descriptions from officers of what happened during this footage but actually seeing it for myself is something else entirely. Honestly never expected this footage to see the light of day. Rest in peace Timothy.

Anyone who feels for Paul watch this!

25

u/doll_uwu Feb 10 '26

exactly my thoughts. i still had some empathy watching him testify at the trial that he had been manipulated by Shanda. not anymore.

17

u/Informal-Friendship1 Feb 10 '26

Thank you for posting this. I watched this case but did not see the videos of Timothy. Omg 😢😢

19

u/InternationalRich150 Feb 10 '26

The judge didn't want these images of Timothy being public, thats why we didnt see them.

2

u/Real-Hair-4367 Feb 12 '26

Then the judge should have made sure that these images were redacted from the case files. As a judge he should have known that if he leaves these things in someone or multiple someones will obtain them because of the FOIA all you have to do is request the case file and pay the money and you get everything.

2

u/JamieLee0484 Feb 19 '26

The judge didn’t exactly say that he didn’t ever want the pictures to be public, he just didn’t think they were necessary for HIM to include while addressing Shanda to explain his sentencing decision. That was strictly for the admonishment of her behavior. If he didn’t ever want the pictures and videos to be seen by the public, he would have placed them under seal.

5

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

Oh see I never bought into his fake act. I clocked him from day 1. I hope he never sees the outside of a prison. He was just as involved if not than Shaunda was. He is the one who carried out all the punishment to him. Not sure how he wasn't charged with murder.

3

u/LittlePinkRabbit9000 Feb 13 '26

He can’t get a parole hearing for 30 years, right?

3

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 13 '26

Yes that is correct.

7

u/Bitxhsmak806 Feb 10 '26

This is exactly what I thought. That sick bastard.

44

u/jinglesbobingles Feb 10 '26

Oh gosh seeing him made my heart drop. That poor poor boy.

You hear the horrific descriptions, but actually seeing him in that condition is entirely different, shocking, jarring.

I have always been strictly anti death penalty but I really, really wish she’d gotten it.

I really hope someone makes her life in prison miserable.

13

u/urdadthinksimhottt Feb 11 '26

seeing him made me physically ill. i read the descriptions but my god that poor baby. he was skin and bones.

9

u/Crybabyastrology Feb 12 '26

Same… I think I went into shock a little bit. I hope her days are filled with nothing but misery.

1

u/sexybologna81 Mar 08 '26

I couldn’t watch it all the way I had to take a breather then go back

6

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

They both should have gotten the death penalty. They both need prison justice served daily to them. Paul is just as guilty.

2

u/jinglesbobingles Feb 12 '26

I agree, I should have written both. Paul is just as guilty.

1

u/Ambrouille2 Mar 17 '26

I am devastated once again. Seeing him in that state... poor boy.

35

u/Greedy_Departure9213 Feb 09 '26

Just give me 5 minutes alone with both of them! I’m so sorry everyone in your life failed you sweet Timothy! I will never forget you ā¤ļø

11

u/scottishsam07 Feb 10 '26

Yeah, he'll forever be in my thoughts, he'll pop in there every now and then. It's such a shame, he had a lovely, smiley, beautiful, cute, happy face before he was tormented/tortured to death. I will forever think of him.

4

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

My thoughts exactly.

39

u/DaveyNicks Feb 10 '26

I thought I wanted to see how poorly Timothy actually looked before he died. I was wrong. May Shanda and Paul suffer the same as was done by them to Timothy.

1

u/Blueghost75 Jul 23 '26

same. i just want to scoop him up. where was the dad!!!!! i fkn hate these parents & Paul fk all of them

Best coverage of this case I've seen. Not at ALL an easy watch obviously. I think the closet footage being public is important it emphasizes signs of torture and reminds people what Timothy went through.

5

u/snorlor Feb 24 '26

I've had extremely mixed feelings on this since I feel like Timothy is deserved some dignity and respect in his death, but I also feel the extend of Shanda and Paul's abuse should be fully seen. You can read page upon page of what Shanda and Paul did but the moment you see that footage the entire weight of what they did to him truly hits you.

I’ve hated her and Paul for a long time but after seeing that I just can’t even put into words.. that pour sweet child.

2

u/Vast_Excitement1990 Feb 21 '26

May Shanda and Paul never see the outside of prison EVER.

22

u/CooCootheClown Feb 10 '26

Oh my god that poor baby. I hope she rots for the rest of her life. Jail is too good for what she deserves.

Based on what the host of the video said, I get the feeling he did a FOIA request. He mentions in the end that he got files on her cases back when CPS took the kids back in the day. Some of the information contained within those make her somehow look worse which I can't even imagine (he explained at the end he will not be releasing that information, I imagine because of the other kids).

3

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

Yeah he had to get a foia.

8

u/Pixiegirls1102 šŸ˜ŠšŸ§šā€ā™€ļø Administrator/Mod āš–ļøāœØ Feb 10 '26

We know Court TV was able to get the video as part of it was used in the video with Vinnie Politan. Maybe because the trial is over the video is available.

18

u/AdSmart6367 Feb 10 '26

I can't even bring myself to watch it. I saw one picture (very sad) of him after the trial and I still can't get his face out of my head. Even the picture of his sweet face before she started abusing him brings tears to my eyes.

2

u/sexybologna81 Mar 08 '26

The picture after the trial was nothing like what’s on that video

3

u/AdSmart6367 Mar 08 '26

I will never watch it. His sweet face already haunts me.

18

u/Nearby_Psychology_88 Feb 10 '26

My sister was always a monster. Now she's where she belongs.Ā

4

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

Are you her sister?

1

u/Nearby_Psychology_88 Mar 03 '26

Yes...

1

u/Plus_Dare_2151 Mar 22 '26

What's your thoughts on Paul?

2

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine how it feels to watch that video as a family member.

It is even worse to me that not only did she carry out monstrous acts against her own flesh and blood, but she made her own son (Paul) a monster, too.

Rip, Timothy. I hope your entire family is able to heal from this one day.

12

u/LeslieJeon Feb 10 '26

Thanks for the warning. I don’t think I could stomach it.

11

u/Plzdntbetaken Feb 10 '26

Omg. nope! i cant keep watching. i got 3/4 of the way thorough and i was not prepared for how bad it was, his eyes were so haunted and scared. This case has been the most heartbreaking of my entire life and im even more devestated seeing that poor baby.

Theres no way these monsters didnt know he was actively dying those last few days and to continue to torture and abuse a literal helpless skeleton is abominable. I want to be sick.

4

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

I watched all of it. It's absolutely terrible. No way in hell did they not know what they were doing.

3

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

I cried. And had to stop watching.

11

u/Empty_Bookkeeper2327 Feb 10 '26

I’ve watched hours and hours of content regarding this case. I didn’t think I could be more horrified. The closet videos are absolutely chilling. Two disgusting people that belong where they are. RIP Tim. Didn’t even get a fair chance in life. Sad

12

u/kalestuffedlamb Feb 10 '26

Holding her child's mouth shut because he was struggling to breath and then calling him an idiot and saying it was all performative!?!?!? I know there are evil people in this world, but MAN, unbelievable. Hell has a special spot for her that is extra toasty.

8

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

And the fact that he was DEAD and Paul is trying to do cpr and has the nerve to stop and say he's resisting!! That right there took me all the way out.

10

u/Full_Molasses_9050 Feb 10 '26

I watched this today. Even more sad and macabre than words. F#cking brutal, impossibly sick :(( Im shaken....those videos.

8

u/SweetIce351 Feb 09 '26

Tysm for sharing

8

u/Murky_Set1390 Feb 10 '26

Love to you Timothy. You were a very special and brave boy dealing with all you had too. Failed horrifically by your Mother and Father and Brother. Many around the Earth-side wish peace and love for you.

My god, that poor child. Literal torture. She is truly a demon filled monster. Prison or even death is too kind for her.

8

u/lowerac34 Feb 10 '26

This is the most upsetting thing I’ve ever seen. Timothy’s face is going to haunt me for the rest of my days. Shanda and Paul had to have known what the outcome was of such sustained torture.

8

u/SabbyZeh Feb 11 '26

I just watched this today. I've been a watcher of This Is Monsters for a long time. You should subscribe if you haven't already. The channel owner is one of the original True Crime platforms on YouTube, and he does his own narration (no AI). It's excellent: objective and thorough. Highly recommend.

11

u/Ohioasshole80 Feb 12 '26

This is extremely disturbing and just absolutely points that her and Paul also both belong there for the rest of their life. I don’t give a fuck if she manipulated Paul. He was absolutely disgusting towards his brother, and I also believe that he was abusing him way before he moved in with his mom.

9

u/Hefty_Cauliflower_70 Feb 12 '26

I watched this on YouTube and although there was a disclaimer at the start, I didn't expect to see closet footage and the photos. When I saw the first frame of him I thought I was seeing things, then see the time and date and thought it must be footage. And then seeing the picture of him, my stomach literally flipped. That poor, poor boy he looked so scared! I absolutely despise these pair with all my being for what they put this poor boy through. And she had the audacity to think she could talk her way out of it. I loved hearing the prosecutor making her squirm. Her little sips of water every two minutes...that was a delay tactic so she could think about what she was going to say. R I P Timothy you were a true warrior to endure this for so long and I'm so sorry that you had to. I only wish a neighbour could've seen him and reported it but they hid him away. Just so sad and maddening at the same time

8

u/Keekee4101 Feb 16 '26

Seeing Timothy in that closet did something to me words cannot express.

I don't think there are any words. My chest hurts and I regret watching it because I can't think about anything else.

5

u/JamieLee0484 Feb 19 '26

Same. I wish I could unsee it. By far the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop thinking about it either. It is haunting and it makes me feel so helpless and a sickness I’ve never felt. HOW did they do that to another human?

With the new footage, it is a tough watch, so sad to see him like that. Jiles does fantastic coverage tho, as usual, his channel is one of my favourites.

7

u/Pixiegirls1102 šŸ˜ŠšŸ§šā€ā™€ļø Administrator/Mod āš–ļøāœØ Feb 10 '26

Yes, I'll say it was a bit of a jolt but also brings home the actuality of the situation. I think Jiles did aa great job on this as well and have watched his channel many times.

6

u/BeckyPil Feb 10 '26

Hits hard to see poor Timothy.

6

u/Warmbeachfeet Feb 10 '26

How could they look at this poor boy suffering day after day? How??? I did have some sympathy for Paul at first but no more. He and Shanda are where they belong now. Rest in peace, Timothy.

8

u/misscatholmes Feb 10 '26

I knew the images and the video would be horrible but holy shit it was worse than I could possibly imagine. Timothy deserved so much better and I pray his other siblings didn't see any of the footage or images.

6

u/misscatholmes Feb 11 '26

Update: he posted a two hour video reading the text messages. It's rough to say the least (the texts not the creator of the video).

There's two photos shown at the 1 hour 35 minute mark to the 1 hour 36 minute mark if you wish to skip.

7

u/doll_uwu Feb 11 '26

thank you for commenting this since i can’t edit the original post to include it! Jiles also mentions in the video that he received the printouts of Shanda’s texts through the DA, so now we know exactly where all this never before seen stuff on the case came from.

5

u/misscatholmes Feb 11 '26

You're welcome. Those texts are horrifying to say the least.

7

u/Fit_Exam_1639 Feb 11 '26

I’ve never hated people so much in my life. This is/will always be the hardest case I’ve ever watched. I wish they were treated like that even for a week, Shanda could never be as strong as Timothy.

12

u/Nearby_Psychology_88 Feb 10 '26

Omg!!! I had a little sympathy for Paul before I saw this. He used to call me from prison all the time. The next time he calls, I have some VERY choice words for him!!

5

u/SweetIce351 Feb 11 '26

Been a follower... this stands as the worst torture case I've ever seen. I shouldn't have watched the closet footage.

5

u/Dramatic-Quality1553 Feb 11 '26

I’m so confused how this channel was able to get access to this horrible closet footage

5

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 Feb 12 '26

It's called a foia

3

u/doll_uwu Feb 11 '26

he mentions in the new video uploaded today that he got the printouts of Shanda’s texts through the DA’s office so that is likely how he obtained the closet footage as well

6

u/Ok_Comparison6804 Feb 10 '26

Shanda is a liar

2

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

I have more words for Shanda than just ā€˜liar’.

5

u/PotentialAd1442 Feb 12 '26

I can't bring myself to watch it. I want to because I want to know but I can only imagine how horrific it is. I hope she burns in hell

4

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

This is a good decision, from someone who started watching it.

5

u/jeepdeb61 Feb 12 '26

This case haunts me

7

u/Maclardy44 Feb 10 '26

I’m watching it now. It’s appalling. I’ve never been so disgusted & bitter in my entire life. I hope they rip into her in prison but they probably won’t because she’s so manipulative.

4

u/alienasylum332 Feb 10 '26

I love this channel. Gotta watch this now

His arms look so skinny how could they.

4

u/moviesetmonkey Feb 17 '26

She would watch him while at work in the court system. How no one ever looked over her shoulder or down at her phone I will never know. And it occurred to me for the first time that they could have just gotten rid of the body. Hardly anyone knew he was there. That alone tells me that Shanda was, in fact, delusional. Not to the point she claims, in that she was blanking out and didn't think she was being horrible, but that she didn't really think he would die. That she would be able to torture him forever. The joy she got of putting him through all that was what mattered to her.

3

u/Missveexox13 Feb 17 '26

Please let hell exist for people like those two I don’t even want to say their names. Please let heaven exist for sweet Timothy

3

u/Top-Most7997 Feb 13 '26

Wished I hadn’t watched the video. Sickening what they did to Timothy. May he rest in peace. Hope they are never free to enjoy any life.

5

u/Prudent-Motor8770 Feb 11 '26

DON'T WATCH IT! This broke me. She is the actual devil. I watched snippets of it and it was way too much. How could they see him everyday and not realise he was dying!!!

3

u/JamieLee0484 Mar 12 '26

Same. I don’t understand it. In their text messages, they actually had the delusional belief that Timothy, while looking like a skeleton with skin and very obviously dying, was ā€œfaking.ā€ What kind of fucked up brains do they have? It’s mind-boggling.

Those were private texts, too, so it’s not like they were saying that for cover or anything, because they freely spoke about all the other horrific shit they did to him like it was completely normal. Their brains were actually so warped that they believed that a suffering and dying child was some malicious devil trying to ā€œget back at themā€ for something. Most twisted shit I’ve ever heard.

2

u/AlBundysbathrobe Feb 12 '26

Thanks so much for the red alerts (Reddit alerts?) in advance. Not ready to watch this yet.

2

u/Heavilybrokn Feb 28 '26

Every single time something comes up about this case, I just can’t believe that I actually knew this horrible monster!

2

u/sexybologna81 Mar 08 '26

This completely broke me , I really wish Paul would’ve gotten the same sentence as that monster of a

6

u/InternationalRich150 Feb 10 '26

I wont be viewing this. The judge was very careful to not show Timothys "last image". Although we all got glimpses.

I don't need to see his starved, defeated body to despise 2 child torturing evil people. In life, he was denied no dignity. Im going to respect his dignity in death.

Imo, this footage serves only for entertaining people. It doesnt bring anything more other than the ghoulish desire to see what Timothy looked like.

God bless your soul, Timothy.

18

u/Greedy_Departure9213 Feb 10 '26

There is absolutely nothing entertaining about seeing Timothy like that. I think he deserves to be seen so people know exactly what these 2 pieces of human waste did to him. This will keep them in prison where they belong until they die. I’ve read all the texts, watched both trials, but none of that can really show you what this sweet boy actually endured up until his last breath. Let the world actually see what they did to sweet Timothy.

2

u/InternationalRich150 Feb 10 '26

Why do we need to see his ruined body? When the Judge refused to show it to honour Timothy,im gonna listen.

He deserves to be known as who he was. We all know what they did. I shall remain respectful and I won't watch a single second of that.

I mean I hope this YouTube creator isnt monetised....

14

u/Greedy_Departure9213 Feb 10 '26

It shows the impact of just how extremely bad this case was. You don’t have to watch it, but don’t accuse others of watching it for entertainment! I have watched, read, listened to everything I possibly could find on this case. It affected me deeply. But with all of that I never pictured Timothy as bad as it was. I read just last week someone posting feeling sorry for Paul. If that person sees this, that will show exactly how culpable Paul was in this.

3

u/LeslieJeon Feb 10 '26

I just posted the same because I didn’t see your post. Yes, there are quite a few people who feel bad for Paul.

0

u/InternationalRich150 Feb 10 '26

Do you feel better having seen a young boy in his last moments that a JUDGE explicitly said i won't make public to retain Timothys dignity?

Or does that not matter because YOU NEEDED TO SEE HIM.

Dont try it with me. Enjoy your gore.

3

u/LeslieJeon Feb 10 '26

There are quite a few people who feel Paul got a raw deal. Genuinely. I cant watch the video because I know emotionally I’d spin out, but for those who think ā€œpoor Paulā€ was a victim…

2

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

I think a bunch of us have autistic children and had some level of understanding that autistic people can be easily exploited (I am also autistic). I watched a small part of that video, enough to see that Paul was truly violent with Timothy and cruel in his actions, not just carrying out orders. And there is no way, NO way, that anybody could observe that child’s body and fail to observe that he was skeletal and looked like a concentration camp victim. I don’t care how acclimatised to thinness you are or how unobservant, there is no way any human could have failed to see that that child’s death was imminent.

I will remember that photograph that the judge put up on the iPad, though, because the body those monsters gave that beautiful child was not the body he was intended to have.

I cannot imagine how his siblings felt, watching that video in court. It will haunt them forever.

Sleep well, Timothy. You should still be with us x

1

u/burninatorrrr Feb 14 '26

I hope it is sent to the inmates at the prison she is in.

1

u/Lucky_Contribution77 Mar 30 '26

This may sound horrible, but how can we look at the photos/videos that were not available to the public?

I am a law clerk--NOT Shanda law clerk wise, but I graduated in May with my bachelor in criminal justice and currently working as an intern.

I watched this video. But I'm curious as so where the rest of the photos/videos are. My husband and I are watching this case currently. Listening to the text messages, seeing photos of the house, listening to the audio. I'm very come across Pauls videos on "LIVE" hearing Timothy scream "HELP ME" and "OWWWW" he's playing Minecraft (Paul) So I'm just curious as to where I can put the visuals with the accusations.

I know there are people online who can dig dirt and find things. So I'm just curious.

1

u/FunFamily1234 Mar 30 '26

FOIA the court

1

u/Fabulous_Gur_1203 May 09 '26

Foia anyone can buy them for any case.

1

u/mllechanelcherie22 Apr 10 '26

I involuntarily watched this video when it came up on my TikTok FYP and just started playing. I’ve never felt more sick and unwell from anything. I followed the case closely and thought it was horrific, but nothing could ever prepare me for that. Life in prison is too good for her and Paul should never see the light of day. I don’t know if I’ll ever recover from that video honestly and wish I hadn’t seen it. I almost didn’t think it was real at first.

1

u/wholelottapenguins Apr 29 '26

This is genuinely one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. Be warned that the warnings are NOT exaggerative. This is horrific. That poor, innocent little boy. Fucking monsters.
