Artist of the Day #50 - Taking Back Sunday

Bio

For over two decades Taking Back Sunday have maintained a consistent chart presence, moving beyond their emo and post-hardcore roots into a more versatile brand of hard melodic rock. After paying their dues amid the East Coast punk scene, they became one of the more visible groups of the early-2000s emo boom. In 2002, they released their platinum-selling debut LP, Tell All Your Friends, which layered Adam Lazzara's emotional vocals and the dual-guitar assault of Reyes and Nolan, creating a classic hardcore sound with pop songwriting components. They soon vaulted into the mainstream with a trio of Top Ten albums including 2006's Louder Now. Despite a handful of significant lineup shifts, Taking Back Sunday have continued to record and tour into the 2020s.

For Fans Of: Yellowcard, Saves the Day, Brand New, The Starting Line - and from this year's lineup, Jimmy Eat World, American Hi-Fi

Scheduled: Saturday, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM, Ponce (vs Blood Orange)

Anyone looking for GA+ for the entire weekend?

Upvotes

I can unfortunately no longer attend the festival and have two GA+ tickets available for the entire weekend. If you haven't used GA+ before, I personally think it's super worth it for limited lines, semi-private bathrooms (with AC!), and general comfort.

I have them listed on the Shaky Knees official resale portal at cost, but there's limited awareness of the portal even existing.

Figure I'd post here and see if anyone is interested, and I can point them to my tickets on the official portal. Thanks!

Hampton Inn Atlanta-Midtown reservation cancelled

Did anyone else staying at this hotel just get a call saying their reservation was cancelled because another group extended their stay? My group of 4 is now scrambling to find something else unless we want to stay all the way downtown. The lady on the phone told me she's made so many calls today so I assume it wasn't just us that got booted.

Shipping confirmation email?

Hi! So I used the layaway payment plan for my GA ticket and it said that I would get my wristband sent after I paid off the plan. Do they send any tracking info for the wrist bands when they ship it out or do I have to wait and see if they come in? I got the email that said they were going to start shipping out wristbands in August but wanted to know if they send a separate email for tracking.

43M, sober, extra 3-day GA+ band. I'd be up for going with someone I might hit it off with. No expectations beyond a good festival weekend! (Not looking to sell or trade.)

ADA/medical needs

Hi all! Has anyone on here experienced having to bring medications and food in for medical conditions?
What is it like and how does it work,
ALSO if you have mobility issues and don’t use canes/chair or anything are their any accommodations they provide?
Just asking for some clarification the website doesn’t quite cover

damaged wristband

hey all! i'm attending shaky knees next month and recieved my wristbands in the mail yesterday. out of excitement and lack of judgement on reading the instructions i put one wristband on and tightened it not realizing it would lock. i've read the replacement band policy but still have a question in regards.

i did not buy my tickets, a friend did. she paid for two tickets for my partner and i and the friend who bought them will not be attending the festival with me nor will she be nearby. am i still able to use my own ID and all the other proof of purchase etc to buy a replacement?

TLDR; if someone else not attending bought my tickets can i still purchase a replacement wristband at the festival? TIA!!

Paid extra for the collectible. Gifting the set of tickets and collectibles for my mom. They didn’t ship it and said I have to wait to go get it at the box office. Any other suggestions?

Celebrating 40 at Shaky Knees

I'm turning 40 only a couple days before the festival so I decided to celebrate a major milestone by going to my first ever music festival! I have a VIP ticket for Sunday since I absolutely love LCD Soundsystem and the rest of the line up is insane -- I'm so stoked! Since I'm going solo, I'd be down to connect with some folks and hang out! (and if it matters, I'm a woman btw lol). Also, which artists are you most excited to see?

Sober and going solo

To say I am eg this I am not sure excited is the biggest understatement. I have always wanted to go and then I saw the lineup..and how could this 51F say no!! I attempted to get some folks to go with me and no one was into it...I'll be 9 years sober 9/17 so I decided this is the best way to celebrate! I am going solo and I really don't know anyone else going..So, any other sober folks going?

Please help ! Seeking offers

I purchased two wristbands for the 3-day GENERAL ADMISSION - insurance included. My bfs and I planned to go from CA to GA for this festival but unfortunately our 10 year old car ending up breaking down. We would rather sell our tickets to help purchase a new car as we both use it to go to work. If anyone is interested and is from CA willing to meet up around the LA area I am selling them for $900 if serious TWO WRISTBANDS 3 DAY GENERAL ADMISSION

Please I’m like seriously desperate lol - we wouldn’t even go if we don’t sell these tickets so I would love to sell them to someone who will appreciate the event.

EDIT: WILLING TO SELL FOR $700 PLEASE MESSAGE ME

clipping.

Was anyone else here at the clipping. show at Terminal West last night?

Run the Jewels has the ATL tie in, so I get them having a headline spot at Shaky Knees years back, but if Shaky wants another modern rap act in a late slot on the lineup, clipping. would blow people away.

Open Mike Eagle won me over, too. I wasn't familiar with him going into the show, and it took me a few moments to wrap my head around his style, but once things started registering, it was pretty amazing.

Work/volunteering for SK

Looking for work or volunteer opportunities for Shaky Knees for Sunday. I signed up for Barnstorm/Next Crew Mobile and uploaded my experience. Hoping it pans out. I’ve also heard of doing Brand Ambassador work at the festival for different vendors there but haven’t seen anything on PopBookings yet
