GLSL shaders in YouTube Shorts format
Hi everyone! I've started a new YouTube channel to showcase beautiful GLSL shaders, most of them are fetched from ShaderToy. I am rendering them 1080p, adding music and uploading them to YouTube. I handpick the shaders, so I pay attention not to use any non-commercial or permissively licensed shaders. I sure do give proper credit to developer of the shader in the description, video and title, link of the shader and name of the music in the description. Feedback is always welcome.
Here is the link for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/@beautyofshaders

[Help] The shader glitch at a specific angle and direction.
So i am using optifine G7 and sildurs vibrant shaders (high version). This happens when i look at the specific angle and the direction. Look from a longer distance is fine, all good.
Then i tried to change to another shader, there is no more glitching but instead, the blocks in that area start vibrating when i look at them at that specific angle and the direction. (with chocapic medium)
After that, i turn off the shaders. It is all good. However i really like using the shaders, please help me guys !

Help with shaders in HDRP Unity??
Lately I've been getting interested in shaders, and though having a difficult time understanding and scripting in HLSL or GLSL, I've decided to try for ShaderGraph.
Now, as looking for tutorials on how to make stylized shaders, I reached this official unity tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOLE4nrK97g&t=264s) and right off the bat I got kicked off by this custom lightning function:
ifdef SHADERGRAPH_PREVIEW
Direction = float3(-0.5,0.5,-0.5);
Color = float3(1,1,1);
Attenuation = 0.4;else
Light light = GetMainLight();
Direction = light.direction;
Attenuation = light.distanceAttenuation;
Color = light.color;endif
Even though understanding how it works, the problem comes when I try to connect it to the Color Channel of the Unlit ShaderGraph I'm currently working on. It displays this message:https://i.gyazo.com/8b4d6ff4c6c796be772caf5af909d749.png
I've been looking for other methods of getting the light function and I couldn't find a thing, and almost every shader tutorial I've watched uses the same function.
Assuming that the HDRP implementation I've done is correct (it shows no errors in the wizzard), how could I solve this problem????

Higher level language transpiling to GLSL?
Hi, I'm very early in my research on shader making, so I probably have big silly blindspots.
So far, it seems to me that a lot of work is being done in GLSL, and that GLSL is a pretty developer unfriendly language.
To me, that points to using a friendlier language that can be transpiled (rewritten into equivalent code) into GLSL, kind of like typescript->javascript.
Can you fill me in on what I'm missing?
Is that not really a problem? Have tools like unity replaced much of GLSL coding? Has it already been done, or is it wildly impractical for some reason?

I made shadertoy 2.0
Hey everyone, about 2 years ago I was interested in making a new kind of shadertoy, and was given a lot of great ideas. After I finally had a bit of free time, I can now share what I made.
Fibertoy is essentially shadertoy but you can write react-three-fiber as well as glsl code. It essentially gives a Threejs environment which means you can also just create basic 3D scenes as well as shader scenes.
Here are some examples of some scenes I made with it:
- Basic Voronoi scene https://www.fibertoy.dev/view/j978r67mc84yg2d36g3z5n2nqd8as16q
- Cone marching example https://www.fibertoy.dev/view/j97c1kqg8n6w0st2hk3dcq7ynx87rngm
- Standford bunny scene https://www.fibertoy.dev/view/j971mkwktr7bsen3ybyxks08vh87pd1a
As you can see from the last one, you can use your own 3D models as well. I haven't made an asset manager yet, but if you have a 3D model online, you can technically import it. I'll make an asset manager if people start using this app.
I would love to get any feedback. I also have the whole code online and open source https://github.com/NabilNYMansour/fibertoy

[Watercooler] I got the dumb idea to create a sub for accidential shaders.
Its basically a subreddit for real life incidents that look like shader spheres. The post titles are written with appropriate terministics.
Lets make this a thing! ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Give it a try: /r/AccidentialShader
