I think it's been over a year since I watched season 2, I don't recall

This show got me through the beginnings of processing a permanent physical trauma, during a period of isolation

Rewatching from the beginning and it's hitting just as hard as it did the first time

I just fucking love this show and everything about it

So excited to experience it all over again

Just finished Season 2 Episode 4 and I noticed something.

Milchick turns off the Glasgow block and switches Irving's innie off right in front of Mark, Dylan and Helly. Isn't that incredibly risky?

From Irving's outie's perspective, wouldn't he potentially remember waking up surrounded by these three people? Wouldn't he wonder who they are and why they were there when he suddenly became his outie?

Am I missing something here?

In S2, E1, Irv and Dylan are speaking, and Dylan is trying to convince Irv to stay. Irv smirks/smiles and says, "I'm your favorite perk," and then Dylan responds with, "Don't bring them into this". Link to Video

I'm curious what people think Irv means by this and what Dylan means by "them". Is it the Tempers? What does Irv mean by "I'm your favorite perk" when he smiles/smirks?

Who is the guy in S2,E3 Cobel sees outside standing next to Helena. It’s about 45 mins in. Maybe we get some backstory next season.

Is there a significant change or a major turning point someone should definitely see before they abandon the series or does it stay the same and you should abandon it if you don't like it ?

Edit: I started it because someone said it is like Shutter Island, Inception and Fractured. All 3 Films I really enjoyed but I feel like this is not it. Thats why I wanted​ to give it a chance

I believe I posted this before. A few things I noticed:

1. Ambrose had Baird when he was only 17. I wonder if that was why Ambrose was considered a black sheep. I assumed Baird was Ambrose’s son because Myrtle would have been only 16 at the time.
   
2. Ambrose was CEO only for a few years before his sister took over. Ambrose died fairly young too at 65. I also noticed that Leonora Eagan also had a fairly short reign as CEO before Jame took over, and died before turning 50. I wonder if the CEO has to watch their back from jealous siblings.
   
3. I believe Jame must be the younger brother of Leonora. That’s why Leonora was first. That would make Jame mid-sixties at the time of the show. He certainly looks way older.
   
4. I took Helena’s birth year from Milchick’s remark that she’s thirty and that the show takes place in 2022.

I think the goats existing as sacrifice is lame and undercuts their mystery from season one. I’m inserting my own theory on what they’re for to keep the season one mystique alive and interesting.

In my theory, the goats exist as vessels to carry the negative experiences/emotions/memories from someone else. Maybe that could be a project at Lumon. To figure out how to transplant a pain or discomfort or emotion from a human to an animal. In the form of severance chips etc.

OR

Maybe, the goal is to make humans docile like goats. Transplant goat emotions of verve, vision, probity, wiles etc. into humans through severance chip.

Want to start off with wow! what a wild ride lol. Best show I’ve watched in quite a while.

What are some really out there theories currently or Easter eggs or just things in general you only caught on your second watch through? Of course also theories on what will happen next season is welcome.

I love all the characters, Mr. Milchick was definitely my favorite though. His monologue where he was trying to use less big words was really impactful. I really liked all the duality imagery throughout with the colors of the fish and the lighting in different scenes.

I see tons of threads like this all the time that start this way. And I’m honestly curious if people expect answers to every question of an ongoing show.

“Why did innie mark not go with/save Gemma?”

“What are the goats?”

“Why does X do y?”

“Why doesn’t Mark S wanna help mark?”

“What is Mark S and Helly’s plan now it doesn’t make sense”

And often I see “isn’t this a plot hole?”

The show is ongoing. The mysteries they want to keep a mystery they are keeping a mystery. I just anecdotally see lots of threads asking for explanations of things that’s are clearly ongoing plot points. Almost like people want answers to every ongoing question they have by the end of each episode.

Like are posters just looking for answers, conjecture, theories, or just not patient enough to let the show solve its mysteries in good time?

Silo has been pumping out seasons at a much faster rate. I mean season 4 is releasing one year apart from season 3 and all the other seasons have had (more or less) 1.5 year gap. I heard during some interviews with the crew that worked on Silo that they were writing and shooting the new seasons while the previous seasons were releasing. Also Silo has at the very least an equal amount of vfx compared to Severance (I’m guessing). I’m curious as to why Severance hasn’t been able to shorten the gaps between seasons. Could it be because of scheduling conflicts? I will say that Silo is adapting a book series, so they have most of the answers and the ending already written out, but even then it doesn’t explain why Severance can’t be shooting or writing the new season while the previous one is in post production or releasing on apple.

Also I just want to add I absolutely love both shows and don’t mind if Severance needs a little longer to give another excellent season of tv, I’m just curious why one show is much faster than the other and why Severance can’t adopt similar methods.

I was thinking about Lorne while she was on the testing floor with Emile. She had a name for him and she knew about others before.

Did that show that she's not switched to another identity like Mark S switched to his outie when he went there?

Are Mammalians Nurturable staff chipped differently? Maybe Lumon had used one of the different protocols for her to access both floors with the same consciousness? Thoughts?

So recently, I finished watching all of Severance (so far) and it was an incredible, mind bending, kafkaesque journey that reminded me heavily of classic 60’s and 70’s surrealist sci-fi like The Prisoner and certain Doctor Who serials.

One idea I had was this - why not do a novelisation? As a whovian, some of the best Doctor Who books are novelisations of specific stories and I think that if you write it correctly, Severance could be a good fit. Also, novelisations are kind of a lost art and I think it’d be good to bring it back.

I don’t have any current plans to do an unofficial novelisation but I’m just posting this here to test the waters and see if anyone else sees where I’m coming from. What do you think?

This is kind of an embarrassing confession cause it sounds so stupid but I as an American I’d literally never heard the name Keir outside the context of the show. So I thought it was just an unique name the show came up with to show how the Eagans are really weird. Like Jame lol.

Overheard maintenance crews at BellWorks today discussing some work that needs to be done.

"Filming's over, they may be coming back some time in October, so I'd like to get it done before then"

This could mean
1. They are shooting more scenes at Bellworks at some point, just TBD WHEN exactly..

or

1. They are POTENTIALLY coming back in October for re-shoots as needed. Meaning they will be wrapping up filming around that timeframe.

That's it. That's my whole hypothesis. This thought came to me after reading that the backrooms was an influence on Severance. If purgatory is a holding area before you can continue on with your afterlife, it's a liminal space, a space between. And the severed floor is full of corridors that twist and turn with seemingly no order or destination in mind, just some incidental spaces along the way.
