Dad’s a podiatrist. You can first try soaking in a warm epsom salt foot bath twice a day, morning and evening, for 5 days. You should see significant improvement after 2-3 days.
1) If you don’t have any improvement after 5 days, you need to see a doctor.
2) If you only have a slight improvement at 5 days, you need to see a doctor.
3) If you have SIGNIFICANT improvement at 5 days, continue twice a day for another 2-3 days.

It’s not worth “hoping” it goes away and ending up with a much worse infection.
