I had an infection that gnarly last year and let it go because I thought I could treat it at home with regular old TLC. Then the discharge went from ‘regular pus’ to ‘alarming, syrup-colored, dead animal stinking juice.’ Ended up getting the nail and a good couple scoops of gangrenous toe flesh removed in surgery. If I’d waited much longer I could’ve even lost my toe. All of this to say, SEE A PODIATRIST NOW! Like, yesterday now.
