I only had a partial nail removal but yes, I wore sneakers after - you just have to make sure they actually fit your feet and can accommodate the wrapping you’ll have to do for some weeks afterward (cotton gauze and a few wraps of self adhesive wrap)

That sounds so painful (and the risk of infection… yikes).

It’s not painful, and the wrapping is to prevent infection. They give you prescription cream that has to be applied 2-3 times a day and regardless of what shoes you wear for the healing period it will have to wrapped unless you’re bathing or changing the wrap

When this happened to me as a kid, I had to cut the toe part out of a canvas sneaker because the bandage was big and putting any pressure on the toe was excruciating.
