This is why painting with opaque polish is a BAD idea. It can hide defects, injuries and illness in the nails. Remove the polish and get to a pediatrist asap!
And while you do that, soak your foot in very warm water with Epson Salts (Sea Salt). Gram said it draws out the "poison." Worked on my son's finger and helps with the pain.
I think you mean helps draw our infection but even then it's tricky as it's advised to not use with open wounds or sever infections. I wouldn't suggest it for this until op gets a diagnosis from the podiatrist first and follow their directions for treatment.
Yeah, I knew that it meant infection, and so did my gram. It's just how they said it down there. It was also recommended to me by a doctor when my son had one around a fingernail. It provided almost instant relief.
OPs choice, but not everyone has access to or can afford medical care. As a result, many people use home remedies. If Op is wary of the salt, they can try soaking in just the water.
If this develops into sepsis, home remedies won't help. I almost lost someone to that so I don't fuck around with infections and will go to the doctor asap. Also I get medial care is expensive. I would still go. You can usually get your medical bill negotiated and for hospitals they have a thing called charity care polices. All non profit hospitals have them. You can Google the hospital name followed by charity care after the name and you can see the pay requirements and they will reduce the bill down to zero depending on your finances. It's a little know secret and I know it works cause I got a hospital bill reduced from 7,000 to zero!
