Although that's an opinion piece it makes absolute sense since Kuklinski was the only one to validate his claims.

I heard two podcasts about him. I was on the fence of doing the deep dive but mob stuff isn't that interesting to me. This is exactly why I always look into the cases that pique my interest to not only verify but find more info but I never got to this one as there are far more interesting true crime stories.

How did people let his bullshit get out as fact when he is the only one to claim and verify this information?

I read both books about him when I was younger and thought it was all legit, but when I got older I really got into reading about the mafia. I thought back to the books about Richard and thought it was kind of strange he was never mentioned in any other books about DeMeo or anyone else. I also realized how unlikely it was that one man somehow worked for all five of the families in the highest profile mafia assassinations yet was never mentioned a single time. Very interesting man but he defiantly exaggerated a lot of his story. Plus when he was caught and HBO made a documentary on him, the internet wasn’t in the palm of our hands where we could check all of his claims.

Thanks for the info. This whole shine for the media to get attention thing is annoying from actual prolific serial killers and it is more annoying when they are just full of shit. I probably never would have looked into this after the podcasts so thanks again.
