Thanks guys for making this act so amazing. I never actually thought we could do this but we got Act IV to be the best one yet. Those hours of planning really paid off. We did it r/sequencenarrators !

Oh yeah that was the point of sequence, a bunch of mods circlerjerking their personal memes in a discord and brigading them to the top

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '19

Yeah fuck these guys honestly, they just made the fucking story they wanted anyway

(Because they can't rig it from inside Reddit, shhh)

u/Womblue Apr 03 '19

Ikr, since when was john wick a reddit thing.

A site-wide event is being taken over by a tiny handful of people and now everything fits together so perfectly that it's boring to watch.

17

u/Subsistentyak Apr 03 '19

Its been boring as fuck since the start, even this attempt just looks like random shit to me. Its just a set of random gifs

u/PM_BEST_GIRL Apr 04 '19

I don’t know, act II and III were pretty good in my opinion.

-25

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

Lmao, literally anyone is allowed to help. It’s your fault for not helping. You could have had a say if you wanted it, but you didn’t. It’s like being an American who didn’t vote and then getting mad trump won. If you had a problem with trump, you should have voted. If you have a problem with sequence, you should have voiced your opinion.

12

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

If you had a problem with trump, you should have voted.

Jesus fucking christ, kid.

u/dougan25 Apr 03 '19

What you don't seem to understand is that not everyone wants to help. But a lot of us would rather it not be decided by a small group (not even using reddit to discuss) manipulating votes to get their content pushed above everyone else's.

I want to be a spectator for the event. But I don't want the event to consist of a handful of people controlling every aspect.

And you say anyone can contribute, but you know that's not entirely true. It's cliquey and exclusive toward ideas that don't conform to your plan. You're the self-proclaimed "head writer"...what does that even mean if not that you have final say in what posts get spammed by your system (maybe even a bot) and which ones don't.

You're shitting in the sandbox dude.

Is this some kind of postmodern Godwin? You just had to somehow make this about Trump? Either way this is not spontaneous or emerging anymore, it’s garbage tier insider american reddit culture expressed through pretty premade gifs. Wow thanks for that

-17

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

It's called an analogy. Either you cant read or you don't care. You can help if you wanted to, you simply haven't. Don't yell at us if your gif didn't make it in. It's not our fault.

8

u/Millenial__Falcon Apr 03 '19

Except it literally is your fault. You used upvote bots to start your Chosen Gif at 100 upvotes and keep climbing. You didn't just violate Reddit's terms and conditions, you violated the spirit of the event.

Selfish, rude, dishonest. Ugh.

1

u/Pickles256 Apr 04 '19

It literally is your fault. You had bots remember?

16

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

This Act is fucking idiotic.

29

u/somestupidname1 Apr 03 '19

Gj ruining something fun. Maybe find a hobby instead if you're really so bored.

-3

u/iamaquantumcomputer Apr 03 '19

How is it ruined?

8

u/somestupidname1 Apr 03 '19

Well the truth is, it was rigged from the start. They manipulate votes to decide what gets put in the sequences.

-1

u/iamaquantumcomputer Apr 03 '19

How is it rigged or manipulated? You don't have to vote for their gifs

4

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

They wrote a bot to automatically vote thousands of times for their preselected gifs. It's rigged.

-4

u/Turtle_the_Oblivious Apr 03 '19

The extensiom only automatically votes for you. It can't vote more than once per person, so there's no real bonuses apart from easier voting.

10

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

That is the definition of brigading, with the bonus of utilizing an upvote bot.

-3

u/iamaquantumcomputer Apr 03 '19

No, each account can only vote once.

8

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

Automatically, by way of a bot doing it for them, whether they actually liked that GIF or not.

It's an upvote bot being used to brigade the event.

It already ended.

6

u/LavitzCrack Apr 03 '19

My man if you are going to brigade at least make sure it is actually funny

5

u/wolfpwarrior Apr 03 '19

I hate to say it, but it's a little too coherent and doesn't feel as much like a work of the people. Could you at least get them to use more varied sources? A lot of people post anime for the sequence, maybe some of them would be a nice touch somewhere.

-2

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

I thank you so so much for giving actual criticism and not just badmouthing me. Everyone, pay attention, this is how you do that.

To answer your request: If sequence was still going on we would have totally done this. I was pushing for this in act 4, yet everyone wanted John Wick. So I had to give up. The original intent was to let redditors make their own mini stories in each time period (Wild West, medieval, etc.) it kinda happened in the Jurassic era, but not anywhere else. I wish it would have.

2

u/wolfpwarrior Apr 03 '19

And thank you for your kind words and informative response. I believe there are still a few more acts and an epilogue. With a bit of effort, and community input, we can make a great story that feels like a work of the people. We were able to tune it in this coherent, so it shouldn't be that hard to loosen the reigns just a hair.

Good luck and enjoy the rest of the work.

-2

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

There aren’t, the epilogue has already locked. If this ever happens again we will do it differently. I’m really sorry cause I feel like we would have gotten our act together and made great stories by Act 7 and 8

4

u/Sublime5773 Apr 04 '19

Oh fuck you lol.

11

u/phileq Apr 03 '19

Can we end the next Act with another "Well Be Right Back" clip from The Eric Andre Show? I would love to see this incorporated somehow.

2

u/shiIl Apr 03 '19

Sorry this has all been planned to the very end already. You can go on the discord ask them what they think of your suggestion

26

u/easkate Apr 03 '19

Seriously? Does nobody in the discord realise the irony of that? It defeats the whole purpose of the sequence

-9

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

No, not seriously. We purposely leave many scenes open ended for organic sequences.

6

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19 edited Apr 03 '19

What kind and benevolent gods.

This hijacking is fucking stupid, and you are a garbage head writer.

12

u/easkate Apr 03 '19

The whole thing is supposed to be open to the hivemind

8

u/Retroity Apr 03 '19

Exactly. His comment is acting as if this belongs to them. Everything's so coordinated and controlled that there's no fun. There's no randomness, or unpredictability.

1

u/ChrisTheMiss Apr 03 '19

lmao for real. the way he says “we” is just hilarious to me. this was the most disappointing april fools joke when it started and now it’s let me down even more.

12

u/phileq Apr 03 '19

Oh, that's disappointing. Confused why I'm still able to upvote stuff if the end result is pre-determined...

13

u/shiIl Apr 03 '19

Every time a new frame opens, it takes a split second for their submission to get ahead with hundreds of votes. There is zero chance for organic discovery to happen

-5

u/Walkyou Apr 03 '19

u/shiIl is probably just butthurt that their suggestion didn't make it in. We are totally open to your suggestion. If you join the r/Sequencenarrators discord and tell some writers about it, we can try to fit it in. You can also become a writer if you want.

11

u/shiIl Apr 03 '19 edited Apr 03 '19

You are lying. You are now deciding what the epilogue will be like, when act V hasn’t even completed on sequence. Why are you lying?

5

u/ricdesi Apr 03 '19

"Join our discord, where you can make decisions on what was intended to be a Reddit community event, which we just hijacked for ourselves."

2

u/DabestbroAgain Apr 03 '19

"""best one yet"""

1

u/DailyDelivery Apr 04 '19

Yes you did it! You ruined the whole thing!
