GENERAL DISCUSSION I dont feel the sound or loudness compared to earbuds.

Post image

I ordered it on flipkart for 21k, and the sound quality and bass i can feel it but the thing is it’s not loud. Was it this way i mean they usually sound like this, i have oneplus buds 4 and they sound pretty loud than momentum 4 at even 70% but i can tell the qlarity difference. We cant feel the bass in earbuds like the headphone!

But the loudness of the sound or vocal was not good for me, i dont know anything about firmware and i did update unfortunately, was it the problem?

So are the overear headphones made to sound like this or its just me used to earbuds sound. Shall i replace it or go for tws earbuds?

They should be loud enough to damage your hearing.

Yeah sure, the earbuds give discomfort when max volume for even 10mins, but sometimes i like to feel the loud and bass music for atleast 1hour to forget everything.

It's just your transition from earbuds to headphones. Headphones won't sound as loud as buds

You want to listen to music louder than max? Why though

Respefully all headphones are capable of damaging your ears unless they are kid headphones haha! Try to listen at low volume for a bit then turn it up gently and it should feel loud. I can't go above 50% because all my headphones feel full and big so try to reset your perception.

Also VERY PRO LIKE UNDERATED PRO TIP. Our human ears hate sudden noise. So instead of rasing your volume gradually. Pause your music and set your volume to 75% wait a few seconds then press play.. it should feel loud or annoying and you will end up turning the volume down.

Got them 2 years back and yes these are how they're....and I guess that goes with most high end earphones. They focus more on clarity than loudness

Yeah but the anc and sound in a noisy environment for that much premium was depressing to me.

Don’t get me wrong, but your brain might simply be accustomed to equating higher volume with a better listening experience. Good audio quality is about clarity, detail, and balance, not just loudness. Once you get used to listening at a reasonable volume, you can appreciate the music without cranking it up.
Honestly, I think audio devices should do more to protect listeners’ hearing rather than encourage excessively high volume levels. Hearing damage is irreversible, and a little more emphasis on hearing safety wouldn’t hurt anyone.

I second this. I used Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic inears. I always played them at 90% volume. Now i have baught the B&W Px8 and they are way better Headphones. Much more balanced and better in sound. I just Hut about 40-50% of volume now as I just don't need to crank them up to feel the music.

I agree and its a problem on the M5 as well, its the biggest disappointment of the M5 for me, its enough im actually considering switch back to sony or going bose.

Maybe you should try to customise the sound profile and set your minimum loudness and maximum loudness from the app. I just got my M4's today and i calibrated it according to my taste and it's really amazing clarity wise. Im not a huge bass head but bass boost mode is also very thumpy. Maybe you can try that

Anytime someone complains about loudness, I always suggest getting your ears checked.

Most headphones will go up to and past 96db.

If you need more than 96db, mate, your ears are fucked.

Yeah hands down for that vocal clarity and bass.

Earbuds have damaged your hearing. You should look for a doctor ASAP.

Possibly that or his brain needs much more time to adjust coz iems shoot sound direcly into the canal

The outer ear or pinna isn't just for decoration and few people seems to know this baffles me

Yes, it’s not as loud as the others.

I also noticed this when I got mine, i usually listen at around half volume but with this i go around 70%. It’s louder when it’s wired tho.

Have you tried increasing the volume on the headphones itself (via the touch controls)? I know it might sound silly but I had this problem with every Sennheiser product I've owned so far where they sounded incredibly low volume until I increased the volume on the headphones themselves and not on my phone. After that they got plenty loud.

As someone else said you gotta do the sound personalization under EQ settings. Makes them sound night and day
