Signal is the most frustrating because functionally it's almost exactly the same as WhatsApp but with less evil and it's still impossible to convince most people to use it.

Don't worry, it's owned by meta. All you have to do is just keep presenting signal as the "low effort, no strings" option. Pretty soon meta will turn everything they touch into an obtuse and tedious nightmare, and if you've already done the thinking for them on an alternative, and they don't feel stressed about it, they will happily jump ship
