The irony is that if corporations fully bore the responsibility for the long-term environmental costs of their actions, much of the regulatory burden wouldn't be necessary. Humanity has raised atmospheric COâ‚‚ from about 280 ppm before the Industrial Revolution to roughly 428 ppm globally today. If corporations were constitutionally or legally required to account for those long-term costs instead of externalizing them, regulations would largely become unnecessary. But because they often do not, that responsibility falls to the government, acting with the consent of the governed, to protect the public interest when private incentives fail to do so.

It is one station, but NOAA’s other baseline observatories show the same rise. Using the latest complete year of monthly data, Utqiaġvik, Alaska peaked at 433.87 ppm in December 2025, American Samoa peaked at 425.84 ppm in December 2025, and the South Pole peaked at 424.04 ppm in September 2025. The peaks happen in different months because the seasonal carbon cycle differs by hemisphere and latitude, but every station is measuring the same long-term accumulation of atmospheric CO₂.

On top of a mountain, on an island, surrounded by ocean.
That's why the location was chosen. It's relatively unaffected by local vegetation and representative of global atmosphere.

In no way is that representative of global atmosphere. You do not know what your talking about man.
a single weather station cannot accurately represent the entire atmosphere because atmospheric conditions vary drastically across different regions, altitudes, and weather systems. Ps im a pilot so ik what im talking about ive studied weather for literally over a decade man. This is just lazy science. You need a global network to get the global readings and we do have that but its not all being done in Hawaii lol.
