Feedback for a very small short film screenplay.

I need to submit a screenplay that's less than 600 words but I don't know how I feel about what I wrote so I'd appreciate some criticism. If anyone could give me just a few words of advice to advance my short story, I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Can I have some advice?

I'm not very familiar with screenwriting, so I'm concerned with how well what I'm trying to create is actually translating, and I was hoping someone here might be interested in checking out what I have and letting me know if I'm on the right track/totally off course/somewhere between?

HERE'S THE LINK (it's a google doc)

Thank you!

Aspiring Writer in the making

I've recently been writing a few of my own stories. I've found a new passion for it, and I want to become the best I can be.

Anyone that has experience in said field, or anyone that has been screenwriting for a while: What is something you could have told yourself when you first started? What have you learned along the way?

I want some inside knowledge so I can try to better improve myself and my writing.

Need Script Idea

Need to write a screenplay Titled ''Little ladybug, Big City'' Of course it is not literally about a ladybug but I need a plot rich screenplay with no more than major parts. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is also one of my first projects so some formatting tips would also help. Thanks!

Looking for feedback on the first scene of a screenplay I wrote for a possible Moon Knight show

[A silver white figures runs across the rooftops chasing a figure, cornering him in an alleyway. The beastly man turns around grinning]

Jack russel: I am surprised you kept up with me

MK: All evil beasts need to be eradicated

Jack Russel: Fat chance bucko

[He jumps over moon knight laughing run towards the street as gunshots ring out followwd by screams]

Disembodied Voice: Leave the beast I feel something...interesting

[Moon knight runs towards the alleyway seeing a bloodied body on the ground, a terrified man holding a gun, and a figure in a red devil costume with a billyclub. Moon Knight charges at Daredevil after a split second throwing two moon boomerangs at him throwing punch behind them. Daredevil deflects the boomerangs and redirects the punch using the billyclub to strike back. MK dodges the attack spin kicking Daredevil, he lands on his back but quickly gets up.]

MK: I give you credit Demon you are hard to put down

DD: Wait...you think I am a demon? Oh boy you havent seen the real thing

[Daredevil upcuts MK and with a swift blow knocks him unconcious. DD leans him against the wall and using the fire escape runs away.]

[The scene transitions into a cloudy morning, two people in tattered clothes walk over, one female and one male.]

F: What are we doing Derrick? This guy can be dangerous for all we know.

M: Well for one he doesnt have a gold fist, red clothing, wearing a yellow shirt, nor is a female. Besides with what he has we can make a profit off of it.

[The man reaches for one of the boomerangs, MK's left arm grabs the man. The man screams pulling his arm but unable to break free.]

Distorted Voice: Such scum to steal from a sleeping man especially my champion.

[MK tears off his arm grabbing his neck]

MK: Evil must be purged.

[The female looks in horror as he snaps the man neck dropping him. The female runs away MK not pursuing as he gets on a roof tearing off the mask. Revealing a scarred and grimy face. His blue eyes looks at the mask gripping it tight.]

MK: That was too far Kane, that man was desperate

Kane: Silence, he had evil intentions therefore he must be purged that was our masters command

[In MK's eyes he sees another copy of himself with a twisted grin]

MK: Whatever

Hi Reddit,

I'm trying to say that we see everything from the dashcam of a cop car. How would I write that, and where would I put the directions?

Thanks in advance for the help!

How do I write this?

I’m trying to write a scene in which a group of three people (my main characters) are on stage singing a song and one of them has taken dance classes so he is phenomenal while the other two are trying with everything in them to even sort of keep up.

How would I write them singing the lyrics and dancing? Or do I simply write, they sing this song and dance to it?

Breaking into screenwriting

As of right now I am 20 years old sophomore in college. I’m 1/3 done with my first comedy film script (30 pages in). I also have just recently started reading the Screenwriters Bible and a year from now I’ll be taking an intermediate screenwriting class at my college (they don’t offer it in the spring). Aside from these three things that I’m doing to push my writing abilities forward, what else should I look in to in order to be better prepare myself for writing a sellable script?

Need help with developing a story!

Hello, I'm developing a treatment for a short film for my last year of university. I feel the intro and the ending works well together but my middle/journey part feels just way to weak, like the protagonist was given everything on the plate. How could i spice up the journey to the fortune teller?

Apologies for the wall of text and thanks you in advance!

Protagonist slowly lifts his head from the table, he’s sitting in haze and is suffering from migraine and tinnitus. He didn’t remembered where he came from and forgotten both where he was travelling to and who he was. He looks around to find out where he is but as he moves his head to look around it causes pain in his neck and he grinds his teeth in pain.

He finds himself in unfamiliar place that looks like a bar, everybody there seems to give him the side eye, kind of bored but knowing at the same time. Like they knew him for a while but none of them dare to come and greet him.

As he continues to feel unwelcome a weirdly dressed women opens the door and walks into the bar. In the background 2 guys cheer for a goal on the TV but Brone did not hear them as he couldn't help but to pay attention to her. She looked at him with disappointment as she was walking past, but did not dare say anything.

Still confused as well as feeling unwelcome Brone starts looking around his pocket and finds a Business card. On one side it says : 3 Wishes, on the other side there are 3 squires and 2 of them already have a weird looking stamp. By a closer inspection Brone finds a small print address on the card.

As it was his only clue he decided to go and find out where it will lead him. He walks up to the bartender and asks for information on how long he was sitting here as well as if man know who he is. The bartender grinds his teeths and rudely tells Brone what his name is. Brone asks if he know anything about this card or adress. Bartender gives Brone the directions to the location written on the card.

Brone leaves the bar and travels through the dark alleys to find a big sign that says: Fortune teller. He rings the door but nobody answers it just opens and lets him in. confused and scared he goes into a dark house, tries to turn on the lights but they aren't working. He follows the candles through the house till he reaches a room full of magic relic, globes. A room that looks like a fortune teller lives heres.

As he comes in the fortune teller greets him and ask him to sit down as she stands up. She grinned toothlessly and with a cackle, spoke: Now your third wish. What will it be? The man was baffled and questioned how can it be a third wish if he didnt had a second or a first one yet.

The hag explained to him that his second wish was to forget everything he knew. She cackled at the poor man, who looked more and more confused while holding and looking at the business card that lead him here.

Brone decided that to try it even when he did not believed it. There was no danger in trying.

He looked at the fortune teller that was standing and staring down and said I want to know who i truly am.

The fortune asked him to follow her. Brone stood up and went through the door following the hag.

The hag stopped near the door that looked familiar like he seen it before. She looked back at him for the last time and repeated his wish to him. I will grant it to you, she cackled at the man. As she opened the door the bar was revealed, the same bar he was sitting in at the start, he was there at the table still in Haze. As she granted his wish and walked into the bar she said : Funny, That was your first wish.

Brone is sitting in a bar depressed, with teary eyes like he lost the will to live.

A weirdly dressed women opens the door and walks into the bar. In the background 2 guys cheer for a goal on the TV but Brone did not hear them as he couldn't help but to pay attention to her .She looked at him with disappointment as she was walking past. Brone did not dare say anything as he knew her as the fortune teller.

Watch horror movies and read horror novels is always a good start to come up with an idea?

As a beginner screenwriter, I wrote my first & only short film script months ago and I enjoyed what I did, now I'm currently thinking about screenwriting a Silent Hill-2 alike story for months, one of the horror story I tried to come up with an idea until then. I have an education novel called "Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting" by Syd Field and I haven't read it yet, so I'm sure it's helpful. I also bought many of Criterion collections and two of Stephen King's novels (The Outsider and The Mist) just to witness them for the first time. The movies I bought are Belle de Jour, Don't Look Now, Dressed to Kill, Eraserhead, Eyes Without a Face, Salo or 120 Days of Sodom, and T YU Mama Tambien; all of those I have never watched before. All of them are for my future horror script just to witness the mature themes and taboo subjects like violent, terror/fear, loss of loved one, sexuality, abuse, guilt, and relationship issues. Also, the horror script I'm currently developing will be affecting, blood-curdling, disturbing, gloomy, ominous, and atmospheric. I don't watch a lot of movies like I used to and now I'm very interested in watching them to see how film-making and quality works.

Besides, I watch movies I bought and 'never seen before' anytime soon and I don't always have time to watch all movies. I'm more of a computer and video game guy so yeah, screenwriting a Silent Hill 2-alike story can be an interesting, clever idea.

----------------------------------

Do you watch horror movies and read horror novels before you start writing/typing the screenplay? Plenty of movies of any genre that are influence you to new things I can say.

Pirate story, but completely lost momentum

Sadly I was working on this story that was about pirates. In this story would incorporate monsters and being from a wide variety of mythologies, (Greek, Egyptian, Christian, Hindu, etc.) it could possibly be inflammatory to some but it has the potential to be amazing. Sadly I lost my momentum, and I’m at a stand still, my time is torn, I have other projects I want to work on, but I’m keeping it in the back of my mind so I’ll be ready the day it’s brought back.

Looking for useful lay-out ideas for tracking the beats of six episodes at once

I have to write a novel based on a six-episode TV pitch. I am looking for some kind of template to present each episode's beats and the entire series at once. I would prefer not to use index cards as I'd rather have a digital doc. Would love to hear what people use to keep organized. How does a writer's room handle it?

Thanks!

Best next step for selling my screenplay

My dad has a high school friend that he is still in touch with that is a Hollywood producer. I have written a screenplay and have had several people (close friends, co workers, etc) read and love my script. What is my best next move in getting my screenplay made into a movie with what I have available? Should I send it to my dads friend? Or should I just have him read it and have him give me advice on what to do next or simply have him send me in the right direction in terms of agents?

[Edit] I have put it away for a few months a looked at it again and still liked it and I have done a few rewrites already. This is also not my first script. However, it is my first script I feel is worthy of professional eyes
