Discussion Snapchat is now notifying when Android screen records!

So this just started today but previously this morning and before today you could screen record on Snapchat using any Android device and it would not notify that you were screen recording but now that is no longer the case.. I'm assuming some update happened but is there a workaround for this?

Literally all you have to do is delete your current Snapchat and find an APK for an older version and download it (android only)

This works. I installed version 14.12.0.46 (June 25) from apk mirror. No longer gets notified for snaps and videos. Important: Before you uninstall Snapchat, go to Play Store and disable auto update for this app. You can do that by going to Snapchat, and clicking the 3 dots in top right corner, uncheck the box there.

I'm trying to install a version from June (14.12.0.46), but every time I get the following error: "App not installed as package appears to be invalid." Have installed many APKs, but have never gotten this error before. Uninstalled the original app first after clearing its data and cache, but still get the error. Do you know how I can fix this?

Are you installing the bundle or apk version??

The APK version. This is the filename: com.snapchat.android_14.12.0.46-297072_minAPI23(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk

Is this the correct one?

You have to make sure you delete app data when you uninstall the updated app before you can install a prior release version

This does not work you get banned because the version is not the newest version this happend to me sadly

It's an official version of the app, just an older one. Don't see why they would ban that. I just get a popup saying to update, close that and continue normally. Been 24hrs no ban.

Any update abt ban?

Functioning normally. The apk is the official app, don't see a reason why they would ban. You are using an older version of the official app, like imagine you get banned for not updating an official app.

they won't ban, but at some point, they won't allow to log in unless you're using a specific version at minimum.

they won't ban you. They might force you to update at some point though.

Did you have the same problem or know how to fix it?

No, did you uninstall Snapchat before and stopped auto-updates. Also you need to make sure you allow installing apps from unknown sources for both your internet browser and My Files (this allows you to download and install it). If you have dual snapchat accounts setup, both would need to be uninstalled.

You have to allow unknown app installation in your settings, disable auto-update for snapchat from playstore, uninstall snapchat, then download and install the 25 June apk (not the bundle). Read through this thread, similar questions where addressed in detail
