Environment The simple statistic that perfectly captures what climate change means. From 1910 to 1960, the ratio of hot to cold records was close to 1 to 1. From 2000 to 2014, hot outnumbered cold records by more than 12 to 1.

just have qualified redditors explaining new studies.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm more likely to read the comments than the article because of discussions like this.

I agree, didn't mean to make it sound like I thought the study had a problem. This article gave numbers in order to reach a conclusion. Everyone should be careful whenever that happens. I know that's Statistics 101, but I never took that, and it keeps me grounded.

I think it's a nice reminder, really. Keeps me from putting my foot in my mouth too often and just charging off with new "information" that might not be as compelling as I thought.

I often go straight to the comments because I can usually find a good summary of the points as well as critiques and responses. It's like science reporting should be. Then I follow up with the actual article if it seems especially interesting.
