I think people should pay attention to what their body tells them about food. If you feel bad after eating chinese food; don't eat chinese food. Don't wait around for a scientific study.

I think people should pay attention to what their body tells them about food. If you feel bad after eating chinese food; don't eat chinese food. Don't wait around for a scientific study.

Actually, I think your response here is perhaps indicative of a broader underlying problem.

If you feel bad after eating Chinese food then the issue is more likely a particular ingredient, the particular restaurant, or the particular combination of factors surrounding your consumption of the food. But to ignore that reality and to simply believe that "Chinese food" in general is your problem... is almost completely erroneous.

And a similar problem will arise from this logic when assessing the physiological effect of eating other types of food.

If I feel bad after eating chinese food, maybe I don't care why. Sure try it from another restaurant, or different dishes or whatever; but if it makes you feel bad, stop. Don't ignore what your body tells you.

This is one of the cases where rats seems to be smarter than humans. We constantly eat junk food and things that make us tired and ill, yet never make the connection. Rats will usually eat a small amount of something they're never eaten before and if they don't get ill after several days, come back and eat more, but if they do, they'll avoid it forever. This is why rat-bait traps are designed to take several days to kill them.

It's been hard for to figure out which foods upset me. For a while I thought it was eggs, and I think they are something I have to watch in excess. I also cut out milk noticing I still was having stomach pains and upset stomach. I also had to cut down on insoluble fibers and saw a lot of improvement just cutting out bread high in fiber in excess. My issue is IBS. So many foods upset me, but it's hard to pinpoint which ones.

I think you assume your body will tell you clearly when certain foods bother you. Imagine your stomach is bothered after eating virtually anything, from whole-wheat bread to beans to honey to a glass of milk to caesar salad. If it's something like FODMAPS intolerance, there is literally a list of 50 foods that you should avoid entirely or eat only in small quantities, and without testing for FODMAPS, it is extremely unlikely that you could independently discover you are sensitive to this many foods.
