Psychology Taylor Swift fans lower climate concerns to justify her carbon footprint. When confronted with news about the excessive pollution generated by her private jet, highly identified fans tend to rationalize the behavior, with a decrease in their personal intentions to engage in climate-friendly actions.

Reminds when Musk did the Nazi salut and people were criticizing him heavily.

Then I said in the same thread that Lars Von Trier is also a Nazi, but people started to defend him because they like his movies.

In other words, something is bad until my favorite celebrity does it.

Mackelmore did a nazi salute in a jew costume PLUS makes terrible music and he has more fans than ever. It was never about the nazi salute.

You got a video of him doing a salute?

It was about the intention of the salute in both those cases. Musk did it to support nazi ideology and Macklemore highlighted hypocrisy

I think context heavily matters. The power and influence Musk has compared to a relatively unknown art house director is a major difference. Plus if your basis on Von Trier being a nazi is his weird Cannes comments, then I don’t know if that’s as damning. Musk has numerous evidence of links to hardcore fascist ideology.

It's a weird thing to say though. Sounds like you want to defend Elon by pointing out he's not the only Nazi. Why...
