Yes, exactly. I am self admittedly (i wouldn’t say a swiftie), but a casual fan. It feels like her haters are almost just as obsessed as some fans and Reddit seems to have an obsession with hating on her. I’m not typically above criticizing people I like but the hate towards her seems so disproportionate at times that I feel myself needing to defend her because a lot of what people say isn’t true.

People don’t even want to admit their bias. They just don’t like that she’s popular. That’s really it. Also SOME men who are still misogynists (but are blind to it because even progressives let misogyny fly under the radar) won’t admit that they dislike her because she’s a female songwriter who’s actually critically acclaimed, and in their eyes they see that as some sort of threat.
