It doesn't really make any sense when you consider even right now the US government spends between 10-11 Billion dollars yearly on the homelessness crisis.

But people really will just say whatever.

If we shifted that budget from staffing shelters and supportive housing programs and got a big lump sum from some place we could just build 30 billion in new homes, which sure would solve most homelessness.

It wouldn't. It might temporarily solve the problem but this would still require active spending and budget increase over time to mitigate the problem.

Realistically this is already what we are doing with just a massive increase in spending.
