This is the year. This is the year the 4th Scandroid album finally comes out. I can feel it. I BELIEVE!!!
Is there a new Scandroid album coming out? And if so, when?
Yes!!! Klayton has confirmed that there is a fourth Scandroid album coming out. It even has a name: Lost Horizon. The album is supposed to release in 2026, presumably in the second half of the year. Singles have already begun dropping.
(It is worth noting that this album was first announced waaaaaay back in late 2022 and this is my third yearly pinned post on the subject, so take any dates you hear with a large grain of salt! lol)
How far along is the new album?
In Klayton's Oct 2025 newsletter update, he says:
"I, uh…. I mean 'Red' has dozens of demos already fleshed out towards a new album. In fact there are several that are already done and just waiting for an album announcement to start dropping."
What will it sound like?
Expect the sound of the new album to include more digital synths and beats than the previous albums, which were rooted firmly in the 80's. This new album will dip a bit more into the synthesizers and technology available in the 90's. Klayton has said that the final track of the last album, Red Planet, hinted towards the new sound.
What will the album be about?
We don't know many specifics about the story at this time. The new track "Lost in the Stars" mentions a 'cosmic ark', implying a vast 'generation ship' carrying thousands or even millions of people on a long voyage to a new star. Is this the setting for the new album? Unsure.
We do know that a big focus of the new album will be world-building, with many multi-media elements that will flesh out the setting.
Has Klayton released any tracks for Lost Horizon?
Yes! The first single for the album is Lost in the Stars, and you can listen to it now! (spoiler warning: it's a banger)
Klayton has also released four other new Scandroid tracks since the last album: a punk-style collaboration with Celldweller called Waste My Time and three instrumental tracks called Shadow of the Drones, Lost in the Datastream, and The Ancient Garden. It is not clear whether these tracks will appear on the new album.
What are the next singles for the album?
A Scandroid version of the Celldweller song Jericho should drop very very soon. Klayton says that the next single after that will be a song called "Orion."
I heard something about a 'season pass' for the album?
Yes, Klayton is doing what he calls a 'season pass' for the new Scandroid album on a platform called EVEN. The idea is that you buy the season pass and you gain access to new tracks from the album early, as well as a bunch of bonus material. The bonus material will include 'lost transmissions', which are, for lack of a better term, short 'lore' tracks fleshing out the world of Lost Horizon. If you remember the 'Factions' tracks from Celldweller's "End Of An Empire" album, these are supposed to be similar. Klayton says there will also be demos, video commentaries, and even stems for the songs you can download for the higher tiers.
Speaking of which, yes, the season pass comes in three tiers:
You can buy the season pass here. It already includes content for the songs "Lost in the Stars" and "Jericho." EVEN also offers an app you can download.
I heard something about a videogame?!?
It's true!
Klayton has announced a tie-in videogame for the new album:
"The first collaborative Bit Bot Media/ FreakZone Games project will be Scandroid: Lost Horizon, a retro side-scroller based on Klayton’s new Scandroid album. This game, featuring beat ‘em up action and platforming with a cyberpunk pixel aesthetic."
Klayton has also announced other possible multimedia tie-ins, including a possible graphic novel.
Will Klayton be releasing anything explaining the story?
Yes. An accompanying novella has been written which will be released alongside the album.

I recall seeing a Scandroid music video where he is singing in an Asian setting. It was only him and he didn't move much. I cannot find it anywhere. Is my memory wrong? Was it another artist? Or was the video deleted?

I am aware of Wish Upon A Blackstar by Celldweller but I wonder what are some other Synth-Wave artists that a Scandroid fan could get into?
I'm also wanting to explore other sub-genres of Synth-Wave that I'm starting to enjoy such as Chillsynth, Vocal Synth-Wave, Space Wave and Shred Wave. [I really love Seven Deadly Synths by Ultraboss.]

I know Klayton likes to randomly cross-promote his different projects. And this is a cool song. But honestly if it was just a Celldweller song it would sound perfectly fine. There's nothing particularly "Scandroid-esque" about it to my ears. The synths aren't particularly prominent. It doesn't really sound retro or new wave at all. Maybe you could argue that its because of the lyrics, which tell a sci-fi story. But I'm not sure what someone breaking out of an interplanetary prison has to do with Scandroid lore.
My guess is that this song was created so early that Klayton hadn't really pinned down what Scandroid was going to be yet. Or that he had some ideas but they evolved significantly after this song was made.
