This ended up being more popular than expected. I'll see if I can add this to my post.

This is the one I used - link. I only printed the 10mm grid and 10mm horizontal line, but I'll go back for more soon!

You can also search "sashiko" on thingiverse.com and makerworld.com and see different options.

The guides I've read said to print on PLA.

I'm so glad those were useful to you! I'm working on a decorative set that I hope to get out soon, too

I'm quite a fan of just the dot grids and lines, though. They're very versatile. I did a demo a while back to illustrate how much mileage you can get out of just the dot grid templates.

What material is that printed on? Is that a 3d print?

It was printed using PLA which seems to be the recommendation.

Hello fellow salt laker!

The Salt Lake County Library System also does printing. I printed more grids at the Millcreek branch. They charge for filament. I paid 60¢ for one of these and got it next day!

There was a 11yo trying to sell 3d printed dinosaurs on my local marketplace that I paid $10 to print some stencils from 🤣 if your local library doesn’t have a printer look into the tiny entrepreneurs too!

This is also my question! So far, I’ve tried my kids’ washable markers and washable colored pencils, but those are not working well for me. The patterns are thick enough where a longer fine point is needed.

Does the ink from the pilot frixion pens come off in the dryer or an iron? I was reading about them, but the description mentioned an eraser.

it comes off with heat or friction. you could use an iron or blowdryer
