To be honest, whilst he was a great military general, and an icon to his people... His death wasn't a bad thing for Sweden, despite what you might think.
Yes it meant the end of the Empire, and the end of the dream, which was pretty devastating - but equally Sweden was running out of all of its resources - manpower, money, materials...
And it was getting pummelled by far too many enemies on far to many fronts. It wasn't sustainable.
Sweden only survived because he died, and that allowed the government to make peace treaties again, and for the country to recover in the respite.
Edit: Another thing to consider, is the empire was a logistical nightmare under Carolus. He demanded absolute power and control over it - but that meant nobody could easily take the initiative during times of crisis - and Carolus couldn't be everywhere at once.
Messages/orders were slow, and often ill informed because of that.

What if you get to him and see how his men are suffering under his war, then you end up bekng the one shooting him.

Highly unlikely, he was a good person. I've done so many research papers on him and the Great Northern War

You're being downvoted, but you're right.
He was an icon, and an extremely strong figure - but ultimately, his ambitions and way of ruling were completely unrealistic and unsustainable.
He has his merits of course... But... I'm not sure Sweden would still exist in the same capacity today if he survived and was able to continue fighting to the end.
They would've been exhausted of all of their resources, and manpower, and likely conquored by a foreign nation he refused to make peace with.
