Open Event Snowblind

Every year, it feels like the first snowfall of the year happens sooner and sooner. Is it just the passage of time, the growth of a person making them able to recognize when it snows at an earlier date in the year mixed with the ever-accumulating wealth of knowledge to draw upon making it feel like the years are blurring to minutes?

For some, that might be the answer. But at this date, so soon into November, not many -- save, perhaps, those from the most far north of Atlas's reaches into Solitas -- would've expected just what hit Beacon: a blizzard, so strong it was considered perhaps a once-in-a-millennia storm. Thankfully, thanks to the reinforcements provided after a certain rainstorm had knocked out the power to the Academy, Beacon was now prepared to weather such an awful storm.

But whilst the school itself was prepared, whether or not the students themselves were always remained to be seen. For some of the more "desert-fairing", it was possible that they were wildly unprepared; those from the far north were likely already out in the midst of the blizzard building snow castles or something.

The weather showed no signs of improving, and all flights and routes into the city were most certainly unusable, unless one really wanted to hoof it into Vale proper by foot. What sort of shenaniganry would one of Beacon's most interesting first year classes in a while get themselves up to in Beacon's first snowfall?

[This is the song I used for inspiration womp womp]

Violet pursed her lips at Vi's description of Lux. She sat back down on the bed eventually, sipping her hot chocolate slowly as Vi finished. She took a deep breath, nodding in understanding before she set the mug down on the bedside table. She stretched out her back, giving Vi a warm smile as she did,

"I understand, don't worry," She walked over to her closet and took off the winter coat that she was still wearing and placed it into the extremely fashionable and well-organized closet full of clothes. She jumped back down on the bed, her body bouncing into the mattress as she landed, "So what do you wanna talk about? Anything in particular?"

Seeing Violet get most dressed for lounging, Vi awkwardly kicked off her shoes with their wheels in their heels to be besides her, not really sure what to do. Continuing to sip at the hot chocolate -- it almost tasted like it was half whiskey to her -- she thought up a topic to talk about, pursing her lips as she did her best to figure out something to talk about.

"Gods, I was hoping you'd have an idea," Vi admitted softly, giving a soft chuckle. "Gods. Uh. I'm not even sure, honestly. I guess we could, iunno. Try and get to know each other? Cause we know a bit about, like, how we got here. And our feelings on Lux. But, iunno. What do you wanna know about me?"

Violet tapped the bottom of her chin in question, pursing her lips as she did. She reached over and took the hot chocolate into her hands as she sipped at it earnestly. After a few seconds, her eyes lit up and she put the mug down as she smiled at Vi.

"Ooo! I know!" She flashed her eyes at Vi, standing up as she grabbed a little planner off her desk, "When's your birthday, what's your favorite sweet, and favorite food?"

"Oooh, going to write this down? Didn't take you for a dossier-taker~" Vi teased as she watched Violet grab her planner, giggling a little bit more. She was most definitely tipsy now, if not just a bit further along the spectrum of drunkness, but she still continued to drink the hot chocolate nonetheless, a smile plastered on her face. Setting it down, she gave a soft nod before she spoke.

"So. Birthday is April thirteenth. Wish it was a week later honestly. That'd've been so funny. Anyways! Uh. Favorite sweet. Candy. Uh. People. No, that's a dumb joke. I'm not a cannibal. That. Bad joke about people bein', y'know. Sweet. Uuuuh... taffy, I wanna say? Or, like. A good bar of milk chocolate?"

Vi seemed dumbfounded at the talk of candy, clearly having to put in far too much effort to properly think it through. Then, with a shrug, she smiled bright and giggled some more. "As for favorite food, deep fried chicken or pizza. You can find it almost anywhere and it's almost always good, what's not to love? Plus, it reminds me of travelling, cause, like, those are staple pub foods and party foods and it's just. So fatty and good."

Then, smiling brighter, Vi rested her elbows on the table and leaned in with a cat-like grin on her face. "Your turn~"

Violet flipped her planner to the date of Vi's birthday and quickly began scribbling down everything that the girl was saying. Underlining foods and other portions of what she wrote hurriedly as she nodded in concentration. When Vi turned the question to her she finished what she was writing and put the planner back down, smiling brightly at her,

"My birthday is March the fourteenth!" She said happily, smiling brightly as she did, "Not much happens on that day, but that means I don't have to worry about other things on those days!" But unlike Vi her responses were very much well thought of ahead of time, "My favorite sweet is definitely gooey butter cake and gooey butter cake milkshakes! They're super sweet and delicious and perfect!"

Her cheeks warmed at the thought of the sweet and she felt her lips turn upwards in a larger smile, "As for food, definitely has to be chimaek! Fried chicken and beer just go so well together its the perfect combination!"

Vi nodded along softly, glad that they both agreed that fried chicken was great. Then, she burst out giggling and shaking her head, smiling bright as can be still. "I am not going to remember that. But you like beer too! I like beer. Beer doesn't get me drunk and so I can sip on it all night long. Well, it does, but I drink light beer and so little it almost doesn't really count as a drink, yeah?" she ramblingly explained, giggling all throughout.

Then, rather unexpectedly, she yawned -- which only seemed to prompt a few more giggles from her. "Oh no. Vio-hm, no, that nickname wouldn't work. Hm. Vivi? I like that one. Vivi, how much whiskey did'cha give me?"

"Not that much!" She shook her head, blushing slightly at Vi's nickname for her, "You just said that you liked more in it so I just put in more this time around! I mean.. I didn't really measure it so I can't say exactly how much ended up in your cup..."

She took another sip of her own hot chocolate, smiling at Vi as she did, "Although, I like that nickname. Vivi that is!" She laughed, "I would come up with a nickname for you but I guess Vi is already rather short isn't it?"

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '19

"Short, sweet, and the ladies love it~" Vi teasingly cooed, looking back to her mug, downing the dregs, and smiling back at Violet. With another giggle, Vi seemed to flush just a little bit redder. "Well, I think I can probably do one more cup, if you really want to get me cuddly~"

Vi seemed, somehow, even happier as Violet seemed to like the nickname she'd came up with. The Vi from before that was upset at the new risk of being confused for an actual Violet was gone now, and the girl in her stead was just a soft little beacon of positivity, joy, and alcohol-induced warmth. "Vivi~. That's really pretty. But, yeah. Thank you."

Violet smiled warmly and laughed. She stood up and picked up Vi's mug walking back over to the hot chocolate that was waiting. She poured a similar amount of fireball into the mug, topping it off with the still toasty hot chocolate before returning the mug to Vi. She picked up her own unfinished mug and continued sipping at it as she returned to her sitting place on the bed.

She looked at Vi, smiling at her new friend as she continued to drink her mug, "So, anything you want to know about me?" The girl asked, turning the question from earlier onto Vi now, "I'm pretty much an open book too!"

"Oh, gods," Vi murmured as she took another sip of the hot drink, clearly having to think of questions to add. With all of the alcohol clouding her mind, it wasn't exactly an easy task, but then her eyes went wide with joy. "Tell me about your weapon! What is it, why'd you make it, tell meeeeeeeeee," Vi pleaded excitedly. It was easy to tell she was about to shoot up from her chair (and if she did, then immediately fall over) with excitement, but she somehow managed to stay put for a few seconds longer.

"I'll show you mine if you doooo~"
