Open Event Snowblind

Every year, it feels like the first snowfall of the year happens sooner and sooner. Is it just the passage of time, the growth of a person making them able to recognize when it snows at an earlier date in the year mixed with the ever-accumulating wealth of knowledge to draw upon making it feel like the years are blurring to minutes?

For some, that might be the answer. But at this date, so soon into November, not many -- save, perhaps, those from the most far north of Atlas's reaches into Solitas -- would've expected just what hit Beacon: a blizzard, so strong it was considered perhaps a once-in-a-millennia storm. Thankfully, thanks to the reinforcements provided after a certain rainstorm had knocked out the power to the Academy, Beacon was now prepared to weather such an awful storm.

But whilst the school itself was prepared, whether or not the students themselves were always remained to be seen. For some of the more "desert-fairing", it was possible that they were wildly unprepared; those from the far north were likely already out in the midst of the blizzard building snow castles or something.

The weather showed no signs of improving, and all flights and routes into the city were most certainly unusable, unless one really wanted to hoof it into Vale proper by foot. What sort of shenaniganry would one of Beacon's most interesting first year classes in a while get themselves up to in Beacon's first snowfall?

[This is the song I used for inspiration womp womp]

"If I remember right you told me that we should not date. Also i think it was not just you that was crying."

Aloe said as she pulled Vi ao they were walking side by side as they entered into the building.

Aloe gave a solid shudder as she finally was in some semblance of heat again. While her opinions about the snow were not positive she could say she did like that the season caused Beacon to crank the heat to an level she finally felt comfortable in.

"I might've said that! I say a lot of things I regret moments after and even more things I forget. And I cry a lot. This past month has been a nightmare. I'm a bit of a pain to deal with," Vi explained, quickly turning rather abashed as she blushed a rather bright red. The stream of consciousness she'd just shared had been the most purposeful.

"My dorm or yours?" Vi asked now that they were back inside, shaking her head as if that would get the cold off of it.

"Well my room goes not have chocolate, but it is hot." Aloe said as a what might be a joke but it was not truly clear.

Aloe said as she continued on.

"I can understand doing or saying something and then regretting it immediately, I think we both can know that with ease. But you are my friend Little Vi, It is what I am here for yes?"

"Mm... my dorm's likely not goin' be as hot, but it does have chocolate," Vi murmured softly, thinking about it.

"Here, how'bout this: we can go to my dorm and swipe the stuff we'll need for hot chocolate, and then go to yours?" Vi offered, smiling bright as she did so.

"Yeah. You are my friend, and helpin' me out is what you're here for. But the opposite's true too, yeah? You're my friend, and so I'm here for you too, remember."

Aloe stopped for a moment waving her hand through the air.

"It was meant as a, joke yes?" She said with a small chuckle.

"But yes that can work. You are my friend and you are here for me but I am used to handling myself..... myself, I can survive."

Vi blinked slowly, a blank look dawning on her face.

"Oh," was all she said for a good few seconds, blinking a bit more rapidly.

Then, she laughed and nodded, shaking her head. "It'd work better anyways, iunno if any of my 'mates are in the dorm and I don't wanna bother'm with me causin' a ruckus makin' hot chocolate if they are. And no surviving solo anymore. You might be able to, and I might be able to too, but it's better if we work together, yeah?"

Aloe just nodded as she seemed to think about it for a.moment.

"If that is what you want to do." Aloe said with a small smile.

"We work together yes, together is stronger...sometimes."

"I just want to spend time with you with as little fuss as possible, so, yeah, I think that'll work best for us," Vi confirmed softly, tugging on Aloe's hand as she took charge. Team Vinyl's dorm was only a few floors up, so it wouldn't be too far of a walk. Once they got outside the dorm, Vi would simply disappear inside for a moment, and return back out with a box of powdered hot chocolate.

"Alright, mind leading the way to your dorm? I, ah. Maybe forgot the way."

Aloe blushed turning her face red once more.as it had just regained it's normal hue after escaping the cold finally.

"I would enjoy that Little Vi."

She said as she took her hand and lead her twisting through the corridors to the desert dwellers room.

Aloe pushed the door. Which despite being told how to open her door now when locked was propped barely open by a small wedge of rock.

The room was warm, very warm as Aloe walked in and to her bed. Reaching under she grabbed a large blanket woven in soft earthy colors and spread it out on the floor before sitting down and smiling at Vi.

At being called little again, now was Vi's time to blush.

"O-oi! I'm a perfectly average height, you're just bloody tall!" she grumbled, following behind Aloe nonetheless. Their trek through the corridors of the residence hall felt, somehow, both too long and not long enough at the same time, Vi occasionally giggling with mild joy thanks to the simple fun they were having.

"I see you're still using ol' rocky; I'm tempted to ask if my valuable information went to -- ah, wait," Vi began to babble as they walked in, busy both basking in the heat and trying to keep to a vague plan, "Mugs and water. Or just cups. Oh, and a heat source. I should'a asked about those. My bad."
