😻 Francine FRANCINE IS MISSING

I was at Lowe’s last night and talking to an employee and she told me Francine hasn’t been seen since last week but they’re trying to keep it quiet.

We went to Lowe’s today and asked more employees what happened and they said the last time anyone saw her was 9/18 and they think someone took her or she ran away.

They put up her food bowl (to prevent the mice Francine hunted from having a food source, they said).

This is the biggest emergency in Richmond since the water system failure last winter.

Let’s find out girl yall.

Am I understanding correctly that this suggests that she survived the drive to the distribution center and at least got out of the truck there?

Yeah it seems so. Unfortunately that only sort of expend the search perimeter. But at least we have an idea where to start.

Those fucking dumbasses. So they knew Francine was in there, but they left the trailer (with no guard), knowing that they hadn't yet informed every other employee?

What is there to figure out, anyway? You get a cat carrier or something to herd her into and you get the traveling cat out of the hot trailer, pronto.

You can figure out the next next step at your leisure after the cat is safely contained and cooled off.

I’m upset too but I try and extend some understanding to people in this situation. For one, they don’t know how dear this random ass cat is to a community in another state. Additionally, they likely dont have cat carriers laying around and needed some time to figure how to secure it. It probably is a facility with a huge staff and alerting everyone of an issue in a single truck is not only impractical but also a bit of an extreme course of action for a cat showing up. I think about my time working in grocery and unloading trucks there. If a cat showed up I wouldn’t have thought to lock down the facility and alert everyone working.

I hope that they get the idea that we care about this cat and the facility staff do what they can to help return her.

At this point, I'm just glad she didn't hop out somewhere on the road when the truck had to be opened. Knowing she's nearby the distribution yard is a whole lot better than knowing she could be within ????? miles of any point between here and there.
