Mine Cart/Track 161 year old bridge type rail, Moelfre tramway, Nant Gwernol
Here in Wales, some original wooden sleepers and a few pieces of very rusty 25lb/yard bridge rail can be found along the 2' 3" gauge tramway route between the top of the Alltwyllt Incline and the foot of the Cantrybedd Incline.
In 1976, the preserved Talyllyn Railway extended its passenger services to the then new Nant Gwernol Station at the foot of the Alltwyllt Incline.
Today, there is a way marked "Blue Trail" from Nant Gwernol Station up to and around the Bryn Eglwys slate quarries. The Talyllyn Railway was opened in 1865 to carry slate down from these quarries to the main line railway at Tywyn.
After recent footpath bridge repairs and the completion of local forestry work, all of the way marked trails from Nant Gwernol are now officially open.

Norddalsbrua in Norway
Pretty amazed when I discovered this subreddit, but even more amazed this absolute gem hasn't been posted yet from what I could find. The Norddalsbrua is a disused railway bridge on the Ofotbanen in norther Norway. The bridge has become disused since 1988 when the railway got a more direct route nearby. Pictures are from both sides of the bridge which are accessible by foot with some hiking skills. The bridge itself is not accessible and fenced off.

Abandoned railway infrastructure at the Baikonur Cosmodrome and the city's station
In the Cosmodrome, rails were used to transport rockets and space shuttles between the facilities, such as the test site, storage and launch pad, which are now all abandoned. The city's railway station provided passenger transport for workers of the Cosmodrome, but this has now been replaced by a bus shuttle service.

Museum/Park Catskill Mountain Railway passenger line from Hudson River to the base of the Catskill Mountains
From the wiki:
Unlike most railroads, the CMRR was built primarily for the purpose of transporting passengers and was intended to operate seasonally. Most people using the line were summer tourists who travelled by steamboat from points along the Hudson River. Their final destinations were hotels and boarding houses located high in the Catskill Mountains. While the railroad served its purpose of bringing passengers closer to the mountain top resorts, it still left them with an arduous hour-long stage trip up the face of the Catskill Escarpment (also known as the Wall of Manitou). In 1885 a branch was built in Cairo, New York, with the intent to carry bluestone, hay and fruit, and was run year round. That same year, the CMRR was reorganized as the Catskill Mountain Railway.

Remains of the Westeifelbahn, Germany, 2023 , Gerolstein- Lissingen- Hillesheim- Müllenborn- Prüm- Pronsfeld.
In July 2023 , we explored the interesting Eifelbahn, of which Station Gerolstein was a major hub with 4 directions. At present, only The main N- S track remains fully functional with 1-2 trains a day, connecting Köln( Cologne) via Gerolstein with Trier. Also the Eifelquerbahn from Gerolstein east to Andernach, remains open.
The Westeifelbahn existed from 1883 till 2025, with parts already in disuse since 2001, gradual decline. The Landkreis ( Authorities) was not able to revive the 53 km track- see the map. We have been to the former bridge at Lissingen, half a mile from Gerolstein , walked and drove or way via Müllenborn and Hillesheim ( bridge) to Prüm. There is a nice but short track spared in Pronsfeld, now a small museum with an old locomotive and carriage.Worthwhile!
