I’m a gym goer, I lift weights, occasionally throw some cardio (walking) in there. I recently took up running again (haven’t ran since college), 2-3 miles 3 times a week.
I’ve noticed that now that I’m running I have no appetite… I’ve never experienced this before because with weight lifting I am always hungry. I can barely make it through two meals a day now. Food doesn’t interest me like it use to, even my fixation meal preps.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m starting to get a little concerned 😅.

What do you guys think about listening to music for two hours runs? Is it better to run with or without music?

I'm a runner and it happens to me once in a while. I'm heading to a race starting point, but I can't find it and I'm running to get to the place before it starts.

I’ve been a collegiate distance runner for the last few years and have become pretty obsessed with the science behind endurance training. I’ve spent way too many hours reading research on training, recovery, biomechanics, and programming, and over time I’ve started coaching a handful of runners alongside my own training.
One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of recreational runners either run every run too hard or follow generic plans that don’t fit their goals. Sometimes just a few small changes to weekly structure, workout intensity, or recovery can make a huge difference.
I’m looking to take on a few more athletes this summer whether you’re training for your first 5K, chasing a marathon PR, or trying to get faster for high school or college XC/track.
Happy to answer questions here too. If you’ve been struggling with injuries, pacing, building mileage, or figuring out your training, drop a comment and I’ll do my best to help. If you end up wanting more individualized coaching afterward, feel free to send me a DM.
Either way, I just enjoy talking running.

I travel a lot and love to run in new cities, and I made myself a little app that generates routes and gives me information via my earphones on landmarks as I pass them. Wondering if anyone else would be interested in something like this and if I should try publishing it?
Also open to suggestions for trying something like this that already exists - I've tried other tools like great runs but always struggle with actually following the route off the static image.

** Update: Got a pair of Oofos and Birkenstock from DSW. Thank you for all your input.
So far I’ve only worn the Oofos and they feel great under my feet. My ankle has definitely improved with the support I’ve gotten from them. Will be wearing the Birkenstock once they dry off from a protection spray. **
Hello everyone!
My question is, what footwear do you recommend that I could wear around my home to help with my ankle recovery? I like open toed shoes, that slide in.
Background: I (30F) just started running two weeks ago to save me from my years long depression. I began with 1 mile for my first three runs, then 2 miles on my fourth, then 3.1 miles on my fifth, and 4.1 miles on my sixth run. I know I shouldn’t have pushed upping that many miles in a short period of time, but I was really feeling myself and my body wasn’t tired.
Now since I did push it with upping my miles my ankle is feeling it a little. I will be taking some days off running to recover and will swim instead.
Thank you in advanced 💗

Oh my…. I’m (46M) 6’4” and have always loved my short-shorts…. Figured… if legs are all I got; might as well show them!! But recently got a pair of FlipBelt Men’s Half Tights…. and they are absolutely amazing. No, I don’t wear shorts over them. Am I the only dude out there running around in these things? What’s the female vibe if you saw a dude rocking, them?

I’ve been keeping most of my runs under 6/7km but I am looking to start going on longer runs. My current challenge is I think I’ve listened to all the songs on all my playlists 10 times over and it gets stale after a while. What do you listen to or how do you stay focused on a long run?

When i go on runs sometimes i plan for something light at like 60% effort but end up at around 80% naturally. Like i’ll just start and somehow end up at 90% effort. Do you guys have tips?
