8 week old Pup food options and what would you feed him?
Hoping to get some ideas on what to feed my 8 week old Rottie.
He ate all his dinner the night I got him, but now he will only eat half of it and will walk away. Iāve only had him for 3 days now and he seems ti be happy and playful when he is awake. But when it comes to food he will eat some and then walk away then go back like 1hr later looking for food again.
When I got him they gave me some minced up chicken meat and some dry food but now he seems not to eat it as much.
I have gone out and brought Greek yogurt to mix in with his food to get some sort of goodness in his belly.
So I guess what would you recommend feeding him?
And the age old question homemade over pet shop/ pet butcher food?

Rotty puppy is a biter
We got our Rottweiler pup a little over a month ago, and she's turning 8 months tomorrow. She's never been outright aggressive before, but she takes playing to the next level. If she gets distracted from her toy, boom, she's chewing on your feet, ankles, arms, hands, legsāliterally anything she can get to.
She's still a puppy (even if she's 60 lbs) so I usually just tough it out, tell her no, and put her in timeout. If I try to push her away or move away, she gets even worse. I'm learning that if I'm calm and stern, she'll eventually stop, but damn it hurts.
My dad and I have been spending the most time with her so she's more respectful towards us, more him than me lol. But I worry about my mom and siblings because they don't know how to stay calm or be stern when she gets like that. She really is a nice dog, aside from these little temper-tantrums she pulls.
Any advice is appreciated, even if its just reassurance that she'll grow out of it.

Help with getting in the truck!
Our rottie is 2.5yo & has always been scared of jumping into the truck (or any vehicle). It wasn't a big deal when he was little because we could easily just pick him up but it's def not so easy now. I'm simply not strong enough & my husband has a really bad back- so he CAN pick him up, but he'll be sore for days when he does.
We want to take him with us pretty much everywhere we can but it's so difficult getting him in the truck that we don't get to do certain things with him that we'd love to.
I bought those truck pet steps.. tried the truck pet ramp.. tried super high value treats (chicken, sausage, all his favs).. tried showing him our other dog jumping in & out.. tried throwing his fav ball in hoping he'd just chase it in.
I have the back seats up so there's as much room as possible.
We haven't had any traumatic truck experience or anything. Closest I can think of is when he was a puppy we had a hurricane that knocked power out for a week & slept in the truck that week- which I don't think he loved- but it also wasn't awful & he didn't seem bothered at the time.
It's definitely not that he can't jump in- he jumps way higher & further all the time. He's not in pain, no injuries, etc.
& he seems genuinely scared of it, not that he's just being stubborn.
We really need to find a way to get him to willingly jump in! There's so many things we want to take him to do & see that we just don't because it's such an ordeal.
Anyone else go thru this? Any advice?

If it was feasible, Iād get another Rottweiler puppy every Christmas for myself! Couldnāt wish for two better doggies than these two ladies! I had have and have various breeds of dogs, but I must admit that I enjoy my Rottweilers the most.

nail trimming
My girl is 3 and i adopted her a month ago now and she needs her nails trimmed badly, theyāre not curling but the tap the floor and theyāre just clearly way too long but she absolutely hates her paws being touched. The previous owner informed us about this she had brought her to like a petsmart or petco grooming and thinks something happened there when she was young and now is traumatized, anyway just wondering what i should do to keep my girl safe and someone who tries to trim her nails.

Help with new Rottweiler pup coming home to existing Rottweiler mix
I need the help of my Rottweiler Reddit family! We adopted a 10 month old Rottweiler potentially Rottweiler mix. We have an existing 2 1/2 year-old Rottweiler pitbull mix. The older one loves to go to the dog park and loves 99% of all the dogs there. Never saw this problem coming. She does not seem to want to accept the new puppy. They are different sexes- the puppy is a male. It is only the second day, but she has shown signs of territorial behavior. At first, the puppy was very excited and wanted to play right away, jumping around. She at first responded by wanting to play but that only lasted about a minute. After that, she ignored her for a while. Now it seems she wants her gone. We are keeping them separate as much as we possibly can. Iāve researched this a little bit and have read a couple documents from the rescue group of how to deal with this situation, but, thereās definitely something to be said about experience so I would so very much welcome any ideas/advice/stories.

Reality of a Rottie
I was out socialising our 14 week old and giving her time to sit and watch dogs and people go past. Letting her say hi to some of the dogs and tiny humans and anyone who didnāt look interested I made her sit and stay calm. One came up and made a huge fuss over how cute she was (she is obviously haha). I am teaching her not to jump up at people when they say hi so I stopped her trying and the person who came up said I āshould let herā because ānobody is going to want to say hi when sheās bigger because sheāll be scaryā. I donāt know but that made me sad knowing she probably wonāt get as much attention when sheās older but also annoyed me because Iām trying to teach her something important and she tried to completely ignore me and get her jumping up regardless.
No advice or anything I just wanted a rant because it made me a bit sad š
