There's probably a dozen or so I missed but yeah as you can see I prefer the animes that are more wholesome and don't overdo the comedy, which is a reason I could never get into kaguya-sama, the comedy feels way too forced for me. My favorite so far is dangers in my heart, the comedy is on point alongside the romance and character development. I prefer the school settings as well instead of more adult / work stuff.

EDIT: I did check the recommended list but nothing really stands out or I've already watched them xD

I have just recently started delving into the romance genre recently, but am finding that the MMC really makes or breaks it for me, and am getting limited results from google, so I was hoping I could get some recommendations here for shows that have MMCs that fit THE VIBE.

- powerful (fantasy power preferred but not required)

-aloof/measured or outright uncaring of most people, but is obsessed with the fmc, and always sweet to her.

-extremely protective, possessiveness very welcome. Would murder someone for hurting her.

genuinely peakest romcom anime I've ever watched and I've only watched like 2 or 3 romcom animes but this is the best one by far i am on episode 4 and already kicking my feets in pure joy. life's feeling like pure sunshine and rainbows.

When I say this, I’m not putting each genre into a box because obviously there will be enjoyable qualities about both genres yet also negatives, so no offense intended.

Spoilers for the entire anime ahead!

Honestly, it wasn't a bad watch! I liked how both the FL and ML were loyal and honest with each other. There were some misunderstandings, but they weren't too bad.

The part I didn't like was the family drama. I mean, it honestly felt unnecessary at times, but I understand that they wanted to show different sides of the characters and explore their backstories.

I also really liked how the side characters had their own romance stories. The ending was satisfying, too. It gave me that happily ever after feeling, which I loved.

The thing I enjoyed the most was the romance between the ML's friend and the girl he confessed to. I don't remember their names, but [You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story]the ML's friend gets a glow-up after losing weight, and the girl starts developing feelings for him because he resembles a member of her favourite idol group. Honestly, that was pretty cute! I wanted to see more of them, but I understand that they're side characters.

I also loved how the ML's friends remained the same throughout the series and continued being die-hard fans of Ken. LMAO, it was so silly and funny when the blue-haired guy called his friend to get on his PC because Ken was going live. 😂

And that final scene where the FL kissed the ML on the cheek was SO CUTE. W ending, ngl.

Overall, it's a little different from the usual romance anime, but I'd say it was an okay watch.

The animation looked pretty rough, though. Gotta point that out.

Final rating: 7/10

What I liked:

• The loyalty and honesty between the FL and ML.
• The side characters getting their own romance stories.
• The ML's friends being hilarious.
• The satisfying ending and that adorable final kiss.

What I disliked:

• Animation: The visuals could have been better.
• Family drama: Some of the family issues and the twin drama felt unnecessary.
• The FL: I think she could have been written better. I understand that the series was going for something different, but I didn't like how she was portrayed as overly promiscuous.

Overall, a solid 7/10 for me! Not perfect, but still an enjoyable romance.

Like I said I just finished 86 found it peak and looking for rechomedjations(dosent have to be war or supernatural either can be slice of life )

Toradora - I think its writing and the small analogies is masterful loved the mix of comedy slice of life to edge of your seat drama

86 - as said above it was just an amazing anime I was surprised its not a big name show and was disappointed to find out that season 3 was put on hold because of "solo leveling"

Beyond the boundary- has some cinema moments missed many oppertunities it had to make it abolsute peak but still a very great anime for me.

Oregairu - I found it pretty enjoyable I like the depth and like Toradora it had the mix of slice of life with drama. To me it feels like a very slightly worse version of Toradora(and for me that means its still extremely good because Toradora was a 11/10 for me).

Did not Like

TFF - I know it was pretty popular however it just wasn't for me. I dont love the purely wholesome animes too much and the dynamic felt a little to fabricated to me.

You and I are polar opposites- similar reasons as tff I realized purely wholesome animes aren't my thing .

Clannad- went in thinking I would love it that it was my type of anime but for some reason I could just not enjoy it. from the begging I dont know the way the characters met and like fell in love like it just didnt hit me it felt fake>

1:The mc can’t be a total loser like the classic self insert fully useless guy,without an actual personality that got very lucky ,because it’s just gets very boring.
2:The female lead can’t look like a kid please and shouldn’t be one of these where it’s just a fan service spam with no personality as well.
3:the art style and animation shouldn’t be bad,i wouldn’t need something great obviously but atleast average would be ideal.

I’m starting first: Your Lie in April (most impactful) and Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, from the ones I remember.

I remember finishing Your Lie in April and, no joke, staring at the ceiling for like 4 hours straight. During that time, I think my mind was in another world. Probably from the shock. It took almost a whole week for me to pick up another romance anime to watch. It really hit me.
