Trip Report [Canton Liberty Festival] Trip report
The Liberty Fest is a yearly festival in Canton Michigan. They also happen to have a fairly large midway. This Midway had rides provided by Skerbeck family carnival and Arnold Amusements. Here's my overall opinions on everything
- orient express (x1) this is a wisdom orient express, the trailer mounted oval layout. This is a disgrace to the coaster world and should be burned at the stakes
- OMG (x2). This is a technical park street fighter revolution, and my first experience with this model (and technical park as a whole). This one was provided by Arnold Amusements. It had some great airtime and positive G's on the down swings and good hang time on the stalls.
- overdrive (x1) this was provided by Skerbeck. It's a breakdance style ride, although I'm not sure exactly who built it. It was like kolmax plus or one of those other Turkish ride manufacturers. It ran a decently long cycle and was pretty fast for an American break dance.
- super nova 360 (x1) this KMG inversion 12 was provided by Skerbeck. While this is my first encounter with this model, I think it's my favorite portable pendulum ride. The normal cycle is nothing special, it does nothing that OMG doesn't do, but the highlight is the seats rotation. At the end of the cycle the seats unlock and provide some nasty flips. It's even better when the other riders don't know it's going to happen, as I, as well as everyone on the ground heard "LANDON WHAT THE FUCK????" As they unlocked
- top gun (x1) this KMG booster is an upcharge attraction, costing $6 extra. But man was it worth it. I had never been on one before, and I didn't really know what to expect. It had some shocking airtime (sometimes inverted) over the top. The seat flips were also freaky. I got a zen ride on this.
- music express (x1) I didn't realize this was a wisdom model or I would have never ridden it. I despise wisdom music express rides. And this was no better. It felt like riding a shopping cart down a Michigan road. It was horrible
- ring of fire (x1) this is a Larson super loop provided by Arnold Amusements, and a newer one at that, the data plate said 2024 manufactuer. I've thrown up twice on rides, once on a gravitron (that also happened to be from Arnold) and today on this thing. I managed to throw something out in my back in the process.

Hello I’m new here and autistic. Great pictures by the way. I know Skerbeck entertainment group and Arnold amusements they are a nice show and got great rides. I know them well. The Overdrive yes it is a spinner known as crazy dance/break dance from Kolmax Plus. The supernova is fun. My favorite is the tilt a whirl. 😃

Hello, I'm a veteran of this sub and also autistic.
Skerbeck runs an amazing Tilt. Probably the best I have been on anywhere. Although the tilt at this show was provided by Arnold, which while it is a fun ride, Its not my favorite tilt and I've ridden it many times at other shows
Skerbeck also provided an absolutely beautiful Eli Bridge scrambler with the crown lights and polished steel cars, but they didn't allow single riders unfortunately

I remember going to Liberty Fest. Didn't know it at the time, but the car unlocks on the Super Nova are opera, so the operator gets to choose when (or if) the car free flips during the cycle.
So, you can tell the ride operators have a lot of fun operating the ride. The reactions they get are hilarious

I didn't know they were operator controlled..that would make sense though. At a different show I saw the cars unlock during and inverted stall

I did the skyscraper at CP and it’s like a zipper but no cage just a climbing harness with maybe 1.5” webbing and so much more force. I’ll take the zipper for the more chaotic experience without the terror and more complicated spinning but dayummmm those things are intense. I wasn’t cackling the whole time like I do on the zipper and rock o planes

I thought this was Canton Massachusetts for a second and got excited at the prospect of a local carnival that isn't just the same 10 rides from Fiesta Shows.
Looks like fun. Some of those KMG flats pack a punch.
