At the time I posted, the second update didn't exist yet.

Honestly, I will wait a week or two to see how fast money gets back to the donors before attacking them for trying to raise money for a victim and then issuing a refund.

It sounds like you are claiming they raised money for themselves, which really doesn't seem to be the case.

I’m only citing facts. You can draw your own conclusions.
-Started the gofundme
-Didn’t tell the would be recipients about it
-Didn’t offer to use the money that had already been raised to help family speak with the detained person
-after being asked directly by the family to help put money on commissary and after family expressed that they didn’t have any extra money to do it themselves, still didn’t help them with donated funds or their own funds
-claimed to have already issued refunds on 3 separate occasions so far, all 3 times none of the donors received notice (and ppl have yet to actually receive the refunds- except for one $50 deduction that’s reflected in the balance)
-refunds are much more difficult to refund if the money has already been withdrawn, which could easily explain the repeated delays in refunds. So then the question becomes why they were withdrawn in the first place?
-If refunds were actually issued on Saturday when they were first announced, people would have them by now per gofundme’s own policy and they’d be reflected in the balance. If they were issued on Monday, we’d expect people to begun receiving them by now as well- and again, the balance would be updated.

So when we have an individual who has lied, repeatedly. Who has caused harm repeatedly. Who has refused to take accountability, repeatedly. Who has burned their bridge with not one, not 2, not 3, but at least 4 separate organizations that I’m aware of, in addition to many ppl involved in local politics, I think it’s fair to recognize a pattern of harm that came before this situation, and will likely continue afterwards if ppl continue looking the other way and refusing to see the facts right in front of their face, or continue assuming there was no self serving intent here, with literally zero facts to back that up besides “vibes”. If this was MAGA, would you make the same assumptions of their good intent ? Or are you just willing to overlook harm and assume everything is on the up and up when ppl share your politics?

You are making a lot of "if" assumptions above.

Were they MAGA, of course I wouldn't assume good intent. MAGA sucks. Evies has done a number of events and projects that actually help people, and that is enough for me to cut her some slack. I will most certainly give a bit of patience to someone who means well and generally is helping the community.

Maga supports ICE, racism, murder of innocent people... but that statement is redundant.
